Capturing video on 1 pi, watching it to another

Greetings all! Forgive the simple question, but I'm a little overwhelmed with the topics on this and not sure which direction would work better from the choices I have seen. I've gone through a number of posts here, showing how to stream with the pi camera, and I think I can get that going fine, but...

Re: Couple of new cases

Stay tuned, we've got lots more things coming. We have no less than 20 more concepts at some stage in the process right now. Here's a couple of photos of the cases stacked : http://www.botrevolution.com/images/large/purple-orange-stack.jpg http://botrevolution.com/images/large/RPI_100_LRG-9.jpg

Re: Couple of new cases

They don't "snap" into place, but they are pretty darn secure, since they slip into grooves on all 4 sides. The GPIO slot is there, the camera slot will be there. It's cut, I just haven't taken the photos yet. So all cases should be ready for that. GPIO cutout sides : http://botrevolution....

Re: Couple of new cases

Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to add, the most important part! It's STACKABLE! You can stack as many as you'd like!

Can't believe I forgot the most important part!

Couple of new cases

Thought I'd share a couple of cases we did. Trying to use materials that others aren't using so much. We redesigned the little tabs to be stronger and less prone to snapping off. We've put them together over 250 times without breaking a single tab. Would love some feedback on the colors/materials. L...

Re: camera install woes

I posted the same type issues here a few days ago. It was my SD cards. I had 2 cards, 2 pi's, and couldn't get it to work on any combination. Decided to lookup the approved card list, only to find my PNY SD cards listed as having issues (both of them, different model cards). I printed off a list of ...

Re: How's this thing work?

I did that and got the same error. I chmod'ed it and now it all seems to work fine.

Thanks for the help. Hopefully my questioning on this part is over, as it looks like I have taken several photos and confirmed their location and quality.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!

Re: How's this thing work?

That's a good question and part of my original question. Where's it writing to? It's a bone stock, fresh install of the OS, with nothing else done other than installing the camera. I've followed the exact examples in the documentation and that's the errors I'm running into. I'm surprised I'm the onl...

Re: How's this thing work?

Okay, apparently the lightbulb that came on burned out quickly. When I type the following in : raspistill -o image.jpg I get the following error message : "mmal: main: Error opening output file: image.jpg No output file will be generated" I'm not sure how I'm capable of taking something so...

Re: How's this thing work?

Thanks, I'd seen all of that and was still missing something. In rereading it, I think I had the lightbulb moment finally. Some days the light comes on quicker than others!

Thanks!

How's this thing work?

After fighting memory card brand related issues to get this camera working, once I have it working, I'm stuck. I can type the commands and get a flash of a preview on the screen, but what's actually happening? Is it actually capturing video or jpegs and storing them somewhere? If so, where? Or, are ...

Re: Camera not showing in config

Solved it! I have 2 PNY SD cards and 2 Pi's, and I swapped them all around and still couldn't get it to work. Went and found a card that was on the "approved" list, formatted it, loaded the OS, put it in, and it worked the first time. It's a lot faster now too. I didn't give the Pi much cr...

Camera not showing in config

Greetings! Model B user, downloaded the latest version of the OS this morning, went through the instructions, did the following : sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade rebooted Expanded FS rebooted Doesn't show the camera as an option in the configuration when it reboots. I've formatted the SD ca...

Partial Media Center Options?

Hello all! I'm trying to accomplish something but haven't had much luck yet and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. What I am trying to do is have a video playing in a loop, but I'd also like to have either a weather widget or news widgets on top of that, in the corners, smaller....
