Watch command on Rpi3 with Pixel screen filler characters

Hi everyone, this isn't necessarily an Rpi topic but since it only occurs on my Rpi I thought I post a question. My issue is that Watch command on Rpi3 with Pixel fills up the empty screen with funny characters while on an Ubuntu box it doesn't. I'm sure it's something to do with the terminal select...

Re: I can't update the keyboard layout on Pixel?

@DougieLawson Thank you. That did it -- manually editing /etc/default/keyboard ! The config change now survives a reboot. Appreciate your help! @klricks I'm ignoring the errors alright; the issue is that the errors prevent rpi-config from ever running the keyboard layout section of the Localization ...

me too; I just cross posted (sorry I didn't know better to use Google for my pre-post searches) and it seems like there's a defect with Pixel? Keyboard layout either can't be changed or the change doesn't survive a reboot? Any solution? I just need to make the simplest of all changes -- make is US E...

I can't update the keyboard layout on Pixel?

Hi, I can't update the keyboard layout on Pixel? I can update other locale but the keyboard layout can't survive a reboot. When I make the change from the GUI it takes it and then after a reboot it's back to UK... When I make the change in CLI it bombs out with an error (both raspi-config and the be...

Hi,

I'm also interested to learn how to guard against the client crashing and existing? How can one create an endless loop to make it re-connect every time something happens given that the mosquitto_sub blocks?

Code: Select all

mosquitto_sub -h m12.cloudmqtt.com -p 13937 -u i12345fh -P b8V912312Y -t switch -q 2

The sense hat has so many defects your issue is probably the least significant of all; I wish I had a refresh issue rather than flat out crap data coming out of it :) I know I'm not helping with a specific remedy to your issue but on the other hand my experience may help calibrate the bar of expecta...

So it sounds like either disable dhcpd5 or even remove its package, then interfaces would behave as expected for static config scenarios

Raspi 3 model B Bluetooth observations

Hi everyone, I have some Raspi 3 model B Bluetooth observations which I wonder maybe shared by others. When using Bluetooth keyboard the R3 works great; no delay in pressing keys; basically real time response! However as soon as I also connect a Bluetooth mouse things change. The keyboard input is d...

Re: Sharing strange dhcpcd behaviour - any remedies?

If it was relevant I would say sure but none has to do with the issue, I'm addressing a defect with the daemon flagging DNS addresses as bad and not checking periodically to unflag them so to speak

Sharing strange dhcpcd behaviour - any remedies?

Hi everyone, Recently I observed a very strange behavior of dhcpcd which I have't seen before: basically my ISP dropped the connectivity to most of the public Internet for a short time. During that time my Pi was only affected by means of not being able to reach it's DNS resolvers (those are public ...

Hi Chris,

So to clarify, the Pi Zero works just fine with

As long as it runs Jesse? Being back powered and all -- no problem?

Thanks

Thank you. The true answer wasn't any of the DPMS stuff.

What made the difference for me testing with a Pi Zero was:

Code: Select all

Well I'm sad to share my experience that a usb hub working with Model B or Model 2 isn't indicative that it will work with Pi Zero. Thanks mikronauts, however I am confused now. And yes I did try and the Pi Zero gets no power when I disconnect the other micro USB cable which...

I believe the OTG "defect" can easily be solved (someone more of a USB guru correct me here) by cutting the sense trace away from ground at the board connector. Then the connector becomes regular micro-USB
