Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

I already know what's happening and why and I'm currently thinking about the best way to fix it.
Sounds like progress, Hais! Thanks for giving this your attention. I eagerly await any further insights.

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Got someone from Adafruit now saying that stereo full-duplex I2S is not an option at all on pi. Anyone know where this is documented. When I switch my code to single-in single out, I still get device busy messages.

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Switching to Paul Creaser's my_loader module (which actually gives meaningful input from the mics in half-duplex), gives the following output from the ALSA full-duplex latency utility . . alsa-lib-1.1.5/test$ sudo ./latency -P hw:0,0 -C hw:0,0 -r 44100 -m 128 -M 128 -p -s 1 Scheduler set to Round Ro...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Following up form the last message, to get a bit more control, I compiled the latency test from alsa-lib and ran it and got the following output when using the using the dt-overlay in this gist . [email protected]:~/alsa_crap/alsa-lib-1.1.5/test$ sudo ./latency -P hw:0,0 -C hw:0,1 -r 44100 -m 128 -M 12...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Thanks for the response @targa. I'm on .. Distributor ID: Raspbian Description: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9.1 (stretch) Release: 9.1 Codename: stretch Re sampling rate/endian, I used JUCE to give me a thin wrapper around ALSA, so definitely sample rate, and almost definitely endian. Note using the dt-overl...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Is full duplex audio possible over I2S on the pi? I successfully got a pair of Digital MEMS microphones up and running using Paul Creaser's my_loader module . This allow me to record sound and access input audio via an application I'm writing that uses a thin wrapper around ALSA. I then connected a ...

Re: Strange RX/TX mangling when using SSH over wlan

You interpret the question correctly. Why doesn't this setup work? I know it is a little odd for one machine to have 2 ip on the same network, but it should still work, no?

Strange RX/TX mangling when using SSH over wlan

Hi. I use my RPi headless. I have attached a wireless adapter to my RPi and assigned it a fixed IP, but the connection is really slow and flakey over SSH. The really strange thing happens when looking at the output of ifconfig. With my SSH connection over 192.168.1.101 (the fixed IP of the wireless ...

Re: USB sound card not detected on power up

Thanks for a solution. I was having the same problem with a kit board based on the 2704. I find that you don't get the inrush current problem if no load is connected to the line out, but this sucks a bit as you have to remember to disconnect the load, power the RPi, then reconnect the load. It is no...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Hi again. I'm considering using this as the core for my embedded project to keep size down, as I need to build a custom analogue input stage anyhow ... http://www.minidsp.com/products/usb-audio-interface/usbstreamer It has a maximum of 10 in / 10 out. In theory, should this be configurable as 4-in, ...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Just found this thread and I'm extremely interested! I'm working on an embedded device. I need to process 4 inputs in real time with a stereo output. Any news on operating the full 6 channels simultaneously?

Re: Creative X-Fi 5.1 USB sound card

I have managed to get an X-Fi HD working very well under Debian Wheezy. I have listened to hours of streamed audio without any noises or dropouts. To help others, I have uploaded full instructions in an article on my blog ...
