Variable volume

Hi all,

Tried all versions of raspbmc (xbmc) and have the volume 'change' between tracks (doesn't seem to matter if it's analog or usb output).
Altered the 'regain volume' options but no joy.
Anyone else experience this??? - just want 'constant' volume across any played mp3.

thanks

Re: JSON control on Frodo

Thanks for the help.
I don't really want to send a notification anyway! (this was just for testing); I want to send commands via this method (like 'play' 'stop') etc.

Works fine.
But the other (as with my take on it) just causes the browser to halt when I try to execute that command.

JSON control on Frodo

Hi all, Googled about and in my browser apparently this should work: http://192.168.1.203:80/jsonrpc?request={%22jsonrpc%22:%222.0%22,%22method%22:%22GUI.ShowNotification%22%,%22params%22:{%22title%22:%22Motion%20Detected%22,%22message%22:%22Front%20Door%22},%22id%22:1} But it just hangs ; even thou...

Re: XBMC remote desktop?

Hi, Well I looked into VNC. And got a bit confused; does it only allow control of the desktop?? I want XBMC to 'appear' on my mac i.e. raspbmc xbmc in a window. I tried installing tinyvnc (I think) and rasp - and it claimed to work. But when I tried connecting through remote desktop on my mac I got ...

Re: XBMC remote desktop?

Hi,

Currently have Raspbmc.
I *assumed* the method (assuming this is possible) relies more on XBMC and so the distro is of lesser importance.

XBMC remote desktop?

Hi all,

I know you can set the pi up and have a remote desktop via mac/pc
But can you have a remote XBMC???
You can <ip address> into it for basic stuff - but can you have the full functionality via microsoft's remote desktop or similar?

Any help appreciated

Re: HDMI split audio

No, TV is fine.
But 2 different splitters!! ; seems *strange*.
I've searched and can't see the problem reported elsewhere. Wish audio engine was stable then I could test properly the USB output.

Re: HDMI split audio

Thanks guys. Got rid of the hum; by simply plugging the hdmi splitter into a different wall socket! More worrying (and I assume the pi or xbmc) is the volume change between tracks. I can sometimes play 3 maybe 4 tracks no problem. The next one then suddenly has the volume double. I can 'reset' it an...

HDMI split audio

Hey all, I have tried many different approaches to get quality audio out the rasp. Analog no good due to clicking of op amp on/off. Tried one of the USB DAC converters - which work great!. But require Audio Engine which seems on any builds like Raspbian completely unstable - i.e. frequent crashes. S...

Re: Home Multimedia Complete System with PI + Android + WIN7

Hey guys,

Presumably you are all taking the audio off HDMI yes?
The analog output 'pops' and Raspbmc supports audio engine so you can use a DAC - but audio engine isn't at all stable in the latest raspbmc build :-(((( (though it does warn you of this).

Re: Tv tuner question

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh - I see! 8-) A dual tuner will deal with freeview HD aswell? - though I am sure a pi will struggle recording at that kind of throughput!! Cheers - appreciated p.s. out of interest if you had 1 tuner and did try to record bbc1 and itv simultaneously (which of course you can't) - does ...

Thanks.
So whats the point of a dual tuner if you can record potentially multiple channels simultaneously off 1 tuner??

Tv tuner question

Hi all
I wish to add support via xmbc for tv/pvr.
I can see dual tuners but have read its possible to record multiple channels off 1 tuner.
Is this feasible ? . I appreciate a rasp may struggle to record 5 sd channels simultaneously

Any help appreciated

Re: Openelec and usb audio

Hmmmm,

This is what I thought.
I got no audio out. Also pi was running dead slow with AE enabled.
Also, at the end of a track (assuming you choose an album to play) Raspmbmc would always crash and back to the 'relax' screen.
Mind you AE does suggest it is 'rough'...........

Re: Openelec and usb audio

Still fiddling with this.
Can't get any output from usb dac - but as said; the spectrum analzyer does nothing!!! - suggesting no audio is being produced. Using latest Raspbmc build.
Anyone who has got it working can you let me know exactly what you did!

thanks in advance

Re: Openelec and usb audio

Thanks!
Audio engine does indeed now show USB output. But no sound :-( . I also notice the spectrum analyser does not move i.e. no sound is being generated.
What should audio output be set at? it's neither hdmi or optical/coax ....

Openelec and usb audio

Hi all,

Am I correct this isn't possible???. i.e. no ALSA so no aplay so no XBMC/Openelec support?
I googled and it seemed this was suggested; just want to verify!

thanks!

Re: Openelec shutdown

Hi,

Yeah openelec.
Funnily enough if I log in as openelec user and even doing 'sudo poweroff' it says not permitted. But if I login as root it's ok.
Does this flush cache's etc? i.e. SD card safe???

thanks

Hi all, I am running my pi as an audio streamer with openelec headless. I wish to restrict controls via any wireless xbmc controller (like from iphone/Android). I can use master lock to some extent. Re: Openelec shutdown

Hi, Fantastic!. I googled openelec looking for shutdown, power off, halt etc. etc. etc. Of course I need a 'clean' non potentially sd card corrupting method.
