one wire (w1) protocol fail

Hi. I have 5 DS18B20 sensors connected to my rp. 3.3V, Ground and pin7 for data (without pull-up resistor) . The wires are cat5 and less than 5m long. I read the sensor by a python program every 5 seconds: def ReadSensor( SensorId): loop = 10 t_err = 99.99 while True: try: fname = "/sys/bus/w1/devic...

Re: How to read and store 200 digital inputs

Thanks a lot to all.

I like a lot Twinkelotes poposal. The sensor can run with input 2.4 to 26V, Do you think I can use a hight voltage to get a better response with long wires? How can I use balanced signals?

Best regards.

Re: How to read and store 200 digital inputs

Thanks a lot rurwin and Gert I noted the problems that you said. More information about my project. I want to record the water consumed in a big pig farm. In the farm the pigs are in boxes with 14-20 pigs with one drinker, and there are 80 to 120 boxes. I make a prototype in my house with 5 drinkers...

Re: How to read and store 200 digital inputs

Thanks.

The information that I have is:

Output rise time : typical 1.0μsecond. maximum 10μsecond.
Output falling time : typical 0.3μsecond. maximum 1.5μsecond.

It's a turbine with a hall sensor that provides pulses.

How to read and store 200 digital inputs

Hi all.

I need to develop a project that read from 150 to 200 flow sensor (digital signal) like http://www.futurlec.com/Flow_Sensor.shtml.

I know how to read to 20 sensor from GPIO, but sombody know how the best idea to conect 200 sensor to Rpi? (mega arduino only have 56 inputs)

Thanks.

Problems with W1 temp sensors

Hi. I have 5 DS18B20 sensors connected to my rp. 3.3V, Ground and pin7 for data. They run perfect but to times in two months disappear the folders in /sys/bus/w1/devices/28-0000048bdaef/w1_slave. The five folder disappear. I try to “reboot” by ssh but not work. Only if I shutdown and unplug and rest...

Script daemon log

Hi all. I have 3 scripts in python running at start up saved as: /etc/init.d/NameOfYourScript update-rc.d NameOfYourScript defaults They run perfectly but I can't see if there are some error, Exception, fail, prints out, etc. There is a log file to see the results when start, stop or fail? Thanks.

Re: How to know if a pin is HI or LOW

Thanks.

Yes I use RPi.GPIO, and I can test the pin with:

Code: Select all

GPIO.setup(pin, GPIO.OUT)
GPIO.output(pin,GPIO.LOW)

#testing

if GPIO.input(pin):
      print('HI')
else:
     print('LOW')

Run perfect. Thanks.

How to know if a pin is HI or LOW

Hi. I want to know if a pin set up as OUT is now HIGH or LOW.

I manage the GPIO.output pins with another script continuosly and I want to read in a moment with another script the state of OUT pins. Some thing like input GPIO.input(11)=False or True.

Thanks.

GPIO BOARD 8, at boot

Hi friends

I use the GPIO BOARD 8, 10 and 12 for managing a board relay. All work well, but at start-up Raspi GPIO 8 change from HIGH to LOW several times (very quickly). It’s a problem for my relay. Someone know how can I solve this issue?

Thanks

Re: Which GPIO I can use?

I test in pin 7 (3 sensors, and thanks rpdom) and run well.

You have to find a folder (with a lot of numbers) in

/sys/bus/w1/devices/

Bye.
