So far, my only successful cross-compile was achieved as follows. On my host machine: git clone the tools and firmware repos from github.com/raspberrypi mkdir /mnt/raspi && sshfs raspberry-pi:/ /mnt/raspi -o allow_other write a CMake toolchain file according to http://www.cmake.org/Wiki/CMake_Cross_...
