Re: Weather Station Design Flaw

The CottonPickersPlace idea looks great. That is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. I could try modelling a design after it, but I may end up buying one from his website. Thanks!
Also, I2C has great sensors. I just looked at them, and they look like they could really help!

Weather Station Design Flaw

Hi, I am in the process of planning out a complete DIY weather station, not one that you buy set up already. Although I am having trouble building a USB Thermometer, and other modules, I am trying to plan out an energy source. I am going to buy a small/medium solar panel to collect energy, have a re...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

This tutorial helped a lot. However, when I start up the server, it took a little while to start generating the map. Then, once it began generating the map, it progressed so slowly that it is only up to 80% on the first dimension after 30 min. Yesterday when I tried this, after getting to to 70% on ...

Wifi Setup on Debian Wheezy

Hi, I just got over the problem of installing Debian onto my SD card, and then I ran into another problem soon after. It turns out that there is no Wifi Config like there is on Raspbian, and I've looked for what to do to enable internet access, yet I can't find anything. Any help is appreciated, as ...

Re: Setting up Second SD Card (and not succeeding)

Is the Pi fairly new? Then you've hit the "old firmware" problem, like so many others. New Pi's need recent firmware and bootloader files. This is because of an issue with the memory chip used in many of the latest Model Bs. I could say "search the forums for 'Hynix'", but simply put what you need ...

[SOLVED]Setting up Second SD Card (and not succeeding)

Hi, I am trying to set up my second SD card with Soft-Float Debian image, but it is not working. This card already had Raspbian installed, and it was working. After I upgraded to an 8-GB card, I wiped out this card and installed the Soft-Float Debian image to setup my brother's Minecraft server. I u...

What type of file would be needed? I do not know the program which would allow 3d modelling to be compatible with this mod.

Re: Something Wrong with GPIO Setup

Either you are using the wrong command i2cdetect -y 0 and i2cdetect -y 1 Or more likely you have not plugged the i2c devices in. If they are not there they cannot be detected. The map shows which devices it can find on the bus. That tutorial assumed you had plugged certain devices in. The fact i2cd...

Something Wrong with GPIO Setup

Hey, I am trying to set up my Raspberry Pi's GPIO ports to start experimenting with them. I am using this tutorial at Adafruit: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-raspberry-pi-lesson-4-gpio-setup/configuring-i2c When I am a the bottom of the tutorial, it tells me to enter this into Terminal: sudo i...

Re: New to Minecraft - is this a feature or a bug?

That is the seed. Your world continues to have the same number each time, but if you create a new world, it would be different. I believe you could stop it by going into the Minecraft source files, but I have not found those yet. They are written in C++, so you would need to know that to edit them. ...

Minecraft Pi Graphing Calculator

Hey guys, I just finished the code for a graphing calculator that works with the API, and I am pretty happy with it. This is my first true mod, and it works surprisingly well. I saved it at /home/pi/Minecraft/mcpi/api/python/mcpi/graphingCalc.py Here is the source code, if anyone is interested. You ...

RetroPie Download taking forever

Hi, I began to download RetroPie so I could use xboxdrv at 9:30 EST, and I let it sit around for a while. When I got back home after going out, at 3:00, it was still downloading, and even now at 4:40 it is still downloading. Is this an issue? Thanks.

Pi seems to hibernate

Hi, I have been doing a bunch of downloading and compiling with the new Pi, and when the Pi is downloading, the screen goes black until I press a key. Does this (a) pause my download until it is refreshed, making the download time increase, and (b) is there a way to change the settings or some file ...

Xboxdrv download to RPi

Hi, I have tried using a few ways to download the xboxdrv to the Raspberry pi, but I have had no luck. Download Software without Ethernet to Pi

Hi. I have the Raspberry Pi which is connected to my television, but is unable to receive any Ethernet or wifi. I do not have an Ethernet port anywhere in the room, and the Pi does not have wifi on it. I have several computers, however, which remotely have internet access. If I connect the raspberry...

Keyboard not working well.

Hi. When I set up my Pi's keyboard, I did not change any of the options for the keys, but I realized when I was starting to fool around with Python that the keys were messed up. The # button would print a £, my apostrophes would have to be pressed twice to work, my quotes would print out @ and press...
