Using the Raspicam Preview to Stream

Would it be possible to use the Raspicam's preview to stream video instead of creating a second stream? I was just reading about RaspiMJPEG (http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61771) and how it has pretty low latency (perhaps because it does this). I would like to decrease the latency...

Anyone Successfully Using the TPLink TL-POE10R POE Splitter?

I bought three of these (http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CMPVs9Ox6LwCFY1r7AodbxUAfA&Item=9B-33-997-213&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleBiz&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleBi[email protected]ELGRa:20140225230358:s) after seeing an article where they were used ...

Re: Use Serial Servo Controller with Raspberry Pi

Take a look at pigpio and servoblaster. This is a software-only solution. You can control several servos from the Pi at the same time by hooking up the servo control line to a GPIO pin. If you have 8 Pi GPIO pins free for your project then you're all ready to go. Aside from that, generally *any* se...

Re: Which Power Supply?

I am going for power over ethernet. The switch below (from play.com) can power 4 ?'s, one splitter (from novatech) needed per ? and I have to find a jack plug to micro usb cable from somewhere. Play.com don't do splitters and novatech only have expensive PoE switches. After all the hassle needed to...

Trying to stream from Raspberry Pi camera and USB mic

EDIT: After finding this post http://prupert.wordpress.com/2010/08/02/stream-live-audio-from-a-microphone-in-near-real-time-in-ubuntu/ I saw this simple MRL: cvlc -vvv alsa://hw:0,0 --sout '#transcode{acodec=mp2,ab=32} I tried it out, it worked, but was choppy. Then I realized, um, wait, I'm using a...

Re: Foundation Camera Board information

Hi, I used 3-4 raspi camera board but no one worked. I replace camera many times but red led lit up did not solve. anybody tell me what is the problem in raspi- camera board? I had one camera that didn't work right away and the problem was that the little ribbon cable on the camera board itself, ju...

Re: Raspberry Pi Camera Board with CS mount Lens

The difference with the original camera board is that the original lens is screwed into the little plastic blob that holds the sensor where the alignment within the blob is based on factory tolerances. The plastic blob itself is not very well mounted to the green board, with sticky tape I guess. If...

Re: Raspberry Pi Camera Board with CS mount Lens

Now that I've rotated the mount+lense but not the sensor and got the same result, the lens itself has got to be nothing todo with it? - or at least that was my logic! Thanks Snaz, for doing this research and experimentation and for documenting it and including images. I'm working on some AV softwar...

Re: Sync Camera Board Output with Microphone Audio

The way to do this, from my understanding would be to add a Real Time Clock http://learn.adafruit.com/adding-a-real-time-clock-to-raspberry-pi/overview and then to use OpenMAX AL and OpenSL http://jan.newmarch.name/LinuxSound/Sampled/OpenMAX/ which are already largely built into Raspberry Pi. I don'...

Re: Really great N&B cam

I don't know what N&B stands for (nuts & bolts?). I looked at Point Grey before -- the only reason for me would be that they have USB 3.0 cameras and almost no one else does. The Raspberry Pi's only have USB 2.0 ports, so I think I'd be better off with much less expensive Logitech models for the tim...

Re: Camera module! (And a picture of JamesH)

Does anyone know of a method (similar to SMPTE or JACK Sync) that would work to sync video (from the camera card) and the audio (from whatever audio input there might be on the RPi itself) before streaming? Thanks in advance! I think this should all be done by OpenMAX clocks components. How? DUnno,...
