Re: Audio Passthrough

Thanks for your reply Spooker. I've not managed to get it working even for 5.1. I'm not sure but maybe it's due to my set up...I use HMDI 0 for my tv and HDMI 1 for my amp.

How have you achieved it? Do you use the Kodi from the standard repository? Have you altered anything in the config.txt?

Audio Passthrough

One feature I'm keen to have on my Raspberry Pi is audio passthrough. I particularly would like to have it using Kodi. I believe that it's recently become possible with Libreelec. I don't want to move to Libreelec as I like the functionality of having Raspberry OS. I've read that some users have pas...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

Re crackling bluetooth sound on mp4 files ... Today i installed all the latest available updates for the Raspi OS. The hard crsckles seem to have disappeared now, but when i compare playing bluetooth mp4 files with VLC and with Kodi there is still a difference. When there is no sound all should be ...

Re: Pulse Audio Options

So I update my PI and now have Pulseaudio showing in Kodi. When I select PULSE: Default Output device it's uing HDMI0. Before I could select HDMI1 and use my Denon amp.

Does anyone know how I can set HDMI1 as the Pulseaudio default? I don't have any sound applet on the desktop now.

Re: RPi4: 4k60 video on one hdmi, audio pass through on other?

I used a nightly version from beginning of August. I also have the Denon amp and passthrough was working with Liberelec. I stopped using it as I missed the functunality of the Raspberry OS. Really hoping the Libreelec audio improvement updates come to Kodi on Raspberry OS. I think I still have the l...

Re: RPi4: 4k60 video on one hdmi, audio pass through on other?

This has now been achieved in the latest nightly of Libreelec - I now have passthrough on HDMI2! Hoping it won't be long before it's also working on the Raspberry OS too :) Old thread I know, just confirming you have video output on HDMI 1 and passthrough on HDMI 2 to an AVR? Yes this is possible w...

Hi Balast,

Have you tried using the other HDMI port? I believe that the second port is not fully fuctional yet as it's still being worked on.

But it doesn't work for pass through :( Passthrough only works when video and audio are both on hdmi0.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress on this issue? Would be great to have passthrough on hdmi 1.

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

I have an interesting issue whereby audio goes down different HDMI ports on the RPi 4 depending on whether I'm allowing passthrough or not. My situation is that I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with a 4k monitor on HDMI 0, and my audio receiver connected to HDMI 1. The reason for this is that the audio rece...

But all I did was follow the instructions in the first post. I didn't type 'unstable' into the repo manually. I wonder what could have happened? I'll try and change it to buster.

CEC then trigger a command

I've searched the forum and Google to see if it's possible for the Pi to execute a command after a CEC signal is detected but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I wonder if anyone on here knew how to or could point me in the right direction. The scenario I'm looking for is one where the Pi rece...

Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

Rejoiced to soon about the CEC aspect! That seems intermittent - it only seems to last for about a minute before it stops or if I turn off my TV :( Still I'm very happy with the separate hdmi situation. And it's a starting point with the CEC....I'm sure I'll solve it somehow :) Anyway this is the Ko...

Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

It's great to be able to use Kodi Leia with Raspbian so thanks for all the hard work getting it to this point. Eventually I would like to use one hdmi port for my amp and the other for my tv. At the moment if I use hdmi0 for the amp and hdmi1 for the tv this works for everything but Kodi. Basically ...

Re: Python script crashes if it can't connect

And so I rejoiced too soon! My problem is mostly solved. The only issue is with buttons I use for the amp where they have a command linked to each press eg ontouch switches the amp on and then onrelease switches it off, so one button does both off and on. Well now the when I press the relevant butto...

Python script crashes if it can't connect

I set up a touchphat hat which adds some buttons to my Pi zero and it works well on the whole. The only issue I have with it is the Python script that works with it. My script switches on and off my amplifier over Telnet and this works well most of the time. But if for some reason there is a problem...

Re: Call a python script on another pi over local network

So after reading most of the information on the gpio zero page I'm still none the wiser on how to edit my script for transmitting the 433mhz signals on the Pi server so I've had a look at thagrol's suggestion with os.system solution. I've got this working and can now execute the python scripts on my...

Re: Call a python script on another pi over local network

Yes I have buttons on my pi zero in the kitchen (I say buttons it is a Pimoroni Touchphat to be precise). My pi 4 is my server which has the rf transmitter attached to the gpio pins. It switches on and off lights around my house.
