Re: Netflix on Raspbmc

I am assuming Netflix really has to Cover their behinds, they have some incredibly strict contracts from the movie industry. This has been why they have had such stringent requirements with Silverlight. Then again, there is an Android app, which I assume does not use Silverlight (They can still lock...

Re: Leap Motion + RasPi

Leap motion has stated they will be releasing an ARM Compiled Linux driver in a few months. I doubt the raspberry pi would have enough power to do very much, but it could definitely work as a java socket server, for passing leap data to an HTML5 webpage on say an Ipad, or another device not supporte...

You should be able to SSH into the Raspberry Pi with PuTTY (On Windows)

Re: XBMC Black screen playback

Yup, it is really simple to add. On the XBMC machine hit CTRL+ALT+F1, Login, username is pi, default password is raspberry (Unless you changed it) Then type in: sudo nano /boot/config.txt Add in the decode code in the e-mail you receive (Mine took less then 12 hours to arrive). Be sure to enter the ...

Re: XBMC Black screen playback

You do need a MPEG-2 license if you are just getting audio, with no video. MPEG-2 is the vast majority of DVD files.

Re: Which is better for Video? 32GB SD or 32GB USB Drive?

I have found that a USB 2.0 drive can be a bit slower then a cheap Class 10 card. Depending on your budget, try to get a half decent Class 10 card (And read reviews!) For the speed comparison, I was looking at just navigating the XBMC Menu, all videos where being streamed over the network, or transc...

Re: Netflix on Raspbmc

Sorry about that, did not see very much interest so I did not put it very high on my priority list! Here is the link, please either comment there, or in this thread (I am getting updates on new posts) and I will do my best to help anyone out! Re: Netflix on Raspbmc

Managed to get video and everything else playing nice and smooth. On a fresh raspmc install (Class 10 SDHC Card), add the MPEG2 encoder to config.txt. Do a quick sudo apt-get update, then sudo apt-get install ffmpeg. Once ffmpeg is installed, sudo reboot, and test the Playon DLNA Stream. Better qual...

Re: Audio pop (again)

HDMI Power can be increased http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Interference_visible_on_a_HDMI_or_DVI_monitor Regarding the audio side of things, if you just use an analogue amplifier, you would be amplifying the pop's along with the rest of the signal (Not taking into account any kind of DSP) Ea...

Netflix on Raspbmc

Hey Guys, Just wanted to let people know that I am currently working on getting Netflix to run (And run smoothly) on a Raspberry Pi using Raspbmc. So far, I do have audio and video playing, quality could be FAR better, but it is working. How I am getting it too work so far: PlayOn server (This is re...

Re: Media centre + touchscreen

Here is a great resource to look at: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi

Covers some of the projects of XBMC on a Raspberry Pi, few options there, which should have some good detail on how to install.

Re: PI as a thin client

I have managed to have some success, just not where I want to be on running a Raspberry Pi as a RDP terminal into my server. I did manage to get the exact rdesktop command to start the RDP connection, and log you in. It goes: rdesktop -f 192.168.x.x -u $username -p $password Where $username is the u...
