Re: USB Ports Dead on RPi2 Previously Working

No 5V on the USB ports. When turned on, it doesn't charge a phone or light up a mouse. I forgot that they wifi dongle won't work, so I couldn't SSH into it anyhow.

Is it dead?

Re: USB Ports Dead on RPi2 Previously Working

Additionally, it does not work when loading NOOBS, the laser in the mouse doesn't even light up. At the screen to select the OS to load, the mouse and keyboard do not work and nothing lights up.

USB Ports Dead on RPi2 Previously Working

I'm helping a friend with his Raspberry Pi. It worked for a year and suddenly, the USB ports died. The wifi dongle used to light up when plugged in and it doesn't anymore. The USB hub doesn't light up either. A keyboard and mouse don't work when plugged in either, even by themselves to avoid over po...

Re: Frustrated with project

(This is dad typing now.) Thanks, that sample code will help. Pressing the buttons doesn't seem to do anything; it starts playing sounds right away and nothing stops it except ctrl-c sometimes or waiting until it freezes and just unplugging it. The picture is also easy to follow. I believe that this...

Frustrated with project

I'm trying to help my daughter with this program to play an mp3 sound when a button is pressed. We're run into nothing but trouble and I cannot help her with this one. First, here are some lessons we've learned: 1) Don't buy cheap breadboard wires from ebay. Half of them don't connect from one end t...

Push button MP3 project

My daughter (11) is trying to build the Raspberry Pi project where buttons are pressed and an MP3 plays from the adafruit website. We had trouble with it and don't know how to fix it. Please check out her blog for details and give feedback either here or there, whichever is easiest. We'd appreciate ...

Re: How to start using your Raspberry Pi

I am 11 years old and got a Raspberry Pi for Christmas. My dad and my uncle have been helping me learn how to use it. I started a blog talking about all of the things I've learned so far. Check it out at http://raspberrypikid.wordpress.com I wish I'd found this forum a long time ago. Some of the thi...
