Re: Samba without password but with allowed ip

BTW: to me it looks like you accidentally added some [global] section parameter to your [ media ] section. see man page of smb.conf: pi@raspberrypi:~$ man smb.conf ... PARAMETERS Parameters define the specific attributes of sections. Some parameters are specific to the [global] section (e.g., securi...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

@beta-tester If you want to skip having to manually resize the partitions, I have a web app that can do it for you. It allows setting the initial partition sizes. More info: https://www.matthuisman.nz/2017/05/noobs-pinn-set-sizes.html thank you, it is a nice idea to do it like this. that functional...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Yeah I originally mislabelled the 4.2 boot partition and I thought I'd done the same again but apparently not. So I was trying to investigate. It should not matter what the partition name was so I think it picked up the old file for the new version. Did you originally install v4.2 from the internet...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

The Retropie problem is a mistake I thought I had fixed but it's crept back in. I'll look at it. Thanks for reporting. i flashed the SD card from scratch and installed everything newly from scratch (because the retropie file system was broken after the file not found issue i had before) the new ins...

In Stretch you don't use /etc/network/interfaces to assign network settings. That is done in /etc/dhcpcd.conf.
How is this done?
e.g.:

Code: Select all

interface wlan0
static ip_address=192.168.1.123/24
static routers=
static domain_name_servers=

this works as well for stretch - even there is /etc/network/interfaces part included.

unfortunately i have no proper WiFi USB dongle on my RPi2 - my WiFi USB dongle does not support AccessPoint mode :x
maybe yours too.

Re: raspberry pi problems in industries

it all depends on how tuff/rough/harsh the environment is, where the RPi is opperating in and the individual usecase. a nice industrial looking case or a case made to mount on a "DIN rail" in a "control cabinet" does not change the specification of the RPi itself and does not make the RPi more robus...

Re: How to control two or more nema 17 stepper motor(s) using raspberry pi?

you can use something like this... https://blog.protoneer.co.nz/raspberry-pi-cnc-board-hat/ so the RPi is sending kind of koordinates to an arduino. then the arduino is doing the signal processing to control the stepper driver. but in the simplest case you can control the stepper driver directly via...
