Re: What's the best way for setting up a server?

I'd go for MQTT as a protocol, it works great for communication between these sorts of clients.
Mosquitto is an MQTT broker that will run on a Pi, whatever you are running on the Wemos modules will most likely have the ability to act as an MQTT client.

Re: Using Node-Red

It's nothing like scratch other than it is drag and drop programming, more a higher level way of describing a flow of data. If you are using a specific piece of hardware you need a node to read/write to that hardware. Loads of them have been written for different tasks see flows.nodered.org. There i...

Re: ALT key stuck in Florence

The version in Debian jessie looks like version 0.6.2-2 whereas the code on Sourceforge is 0.6.3.
Which version are you using ? It might be worth compiling from scratch to see if that fixes it.
I could not see a fix list, the release notes are a bit sparse.

Thanks alot for your reply ! It helps alot! So which language should I use to create the GUI for the web server on pi? Can php works? Or rather can php use to execute command to capture the camera ? I don't know much about PHP but this looks like what you need. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vi...

Problem 1 maybe an Ad-hoc connection between the Pi and the PC. http://slicepi.com/creating-an-ad-hoc-network-for-your-raspberry-pi/ Edit: does WiFi work through water ? Problem 2, how about running a web server on the Pi that has a window with the video and a capture button. That way you have no ne...

Feature request to reduce pain for new users

Just had a conversation with a new user on Reddit. He did not know about expanding the files system using raspi-config and was about to go out an buy a 64GB card to replace his 32GB card. Would it be a good idea to set a flag somewhere when a file system has been upgraded and until that appears chan...

node-red js libraries for web page

Hi,

I think I'm beginning to get the hang of node-red but I've got stumped by one issue.

If I want to create a web page that includes external js libraries, eg. jQuery.
Where in the linux file system do I put the libraries so that Node-red can find them?

Thanks

not

etc/code/Sources.list
the leading slash and the lower case S are important.

Re: Controlling RPi wifi network authentication via bluetoot

The particle photon dev board works a bit like that but does not use Bluetooth.
One button puts it into Ad-Hoc WiFi mode and a smartphone app connects to it and lets you configure it for the local WiFi.

Re: Rdp gateway in raspberry pi

yes the openvpn post I linked to does include routing mobile traffic back to home, but it does create remote access to home as well. Alternatively you can tunnel everything over SSH, it is simpler to set up, just not as scalable. http://www.howtogeek.com/118145/vpn-vs.-ssh-tunnel-which-is-more-secure/

Re: OpenVPN Setup

have you got a file in that directory or a subfolder with a name that starts -S ?

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~/test $ ls
-S -T
[email protected]:~/test $ rm *
rm: invalid option -- 'S'
Try 'rm ./-S' to remove the file ‘-S’.
Try 'rm --help' for more information.

beware of multiple repeaters. To understand the problem you have to understand how repeaters work. Think of trying to talk to someone in the next room and not being able to hear, a friend stands in the doorway and repeats everything you say. Immediately you halve the connection speed. an SD card used on a Raspberry Pi has a number of different partitions on it. If you look at it using a card reader and Windows PC then you can only usually see one of them. The rest of the space is used by partition types a PC cannot read so it thinks the rest is blank. For the real space try the c...

Re: Rdp gateway in raspberry pi

from the Superuser post you want to connect from the Internet.

This sounds like a job for a VPN. it's not going to do it exactly the way you specified, but it would let you connect to any of your internal systems in a secure manner.

Re: Raspberry Pi to power on a TV

if the Pi is connected to the HDMI on the TV you can put it in and out of standby using the command tvservice .
There's also CEC which has more advanced control over HDMI on more modern TVs,

For full power control I'd recommend the Energenie add on.

Search this forum and you should find more info
