Re: OpenOCD and the Pi4

I got it to work with the following

Code: Select all

bcm2835gpio_peripheral_base 0xFE000000
bcm2835gpio_speed_coeffs 236181 60
Thanks to @ukscone and @sean.lawless

Re: OpenOCD and the Pi4

Ok, I tried it right away. I didn't work. Here's the content of my rpi4.cfg # Config for using Raspberry Pi's expansion header # # This is best used with a fast enough buffer but also # is suitable for direct connection if the target voltage # matches RPi's 3.3V and the cable is short enough. ...

Re: OpenOCD and the Pi4

Thanks! I'll try this in the morning.
Before leaving, the previous owner did say I needed to change the peripheral_base but not to what value.

OpenOCD and the Pi4

Hi everyone, I inherited a project from someone who is entirely out of reach now. There are script files to handle flashing firmware through openOCD, but this is failing on a Pi 4. I have the rpi1.cfg file for the Pi1, and rpi2.cfg file for all the others. I'm assuming I need a new one for the Pi4, ...

Desktop name

Hi everyone I'm using the multiple desktops on Raspbian Stretch. I would like one of those desktops to use the hostname of the Pi as its name. Said hostname is called to change often. So at each boot, I would have a script that takes the hostname and overwrites the main desktop name. However I have ...

Scratch 2 File extension when using an extension

Been playing with the extensions for a bit.
What is the intended scratch extension? Would it still be a .sb2, or a .sbx ?
It seems if I save it once, it's a .sb2, but if I load it and save it again, it becomes a .sbx and is no longer loadable.

Anyone else can see this ?

Re: Stretch + Scratch 2 + Sense HAT

thanks @ghp

Not quite the answer I wanted to hear, but I guess I'll have to live with it. So an extension does not have access to sprites? That's too bad. I hate working with 1.4 because the kids I have are still struggling with keyboard skills.

Stretch + Scratch 2 + Sense HAT

I am giving a workshop with Sense Hat in about a month. I was thrilled to see it is now supported in the on-board Scratch 2 but it's severely limited! It used to be that we could display a sprite onto the SenseHat pixel, if that sprite was small enough. Now, are the kids expected to use one block pe...

Look at Dexter Industries, for an American solution. The Gopigo is already used in classrooms and supports Scratch and Python. It can be expanded with plug and play sensors.

I can't really help now but I've managed to turn my power LED off. I just have no idea how. It wasn't intentional.
So now I'm investigating. There is another way! Somewhere. Somehow

Re: Anyone coming to BrickPi from NXT?

if I used BrickPi instead of the NXT-G programming environment. I would actually not need any PC's/Mac's in my room. Hi Bob! Nicely met :) If you use the BrickPi you are still expected to have other computers in the room in order to remote program the Pi. You'll log into the Pi via a browser and av...

I'm new to this so the pixel version is the first and only I've tried.
Yes it did but it's been a while.
I'm not saying it's Pixel's fault, just stating which version of Raspbian I'm using on a pi3

Re: setting title when starting lxterminal

ah! Found it!
If you already have a terminal window up and running, then you need sudo to start a new one and set its title.
If you don't have any terminal already open, then sudo is not required.

Solved.

setting title when starting lxterminal

Hello
I have a script that used to start a lxterminal and set its title. It used to work. It stopped working a week or two ago (or at least that's when I noticed it)

lxterminal --title="My Terminal"
lxterminal -t "My Terminal"
both fail to set the title.

Trivial, but I'm baffled.

For the visible drives, I'm assuming they have to be mounted first?

I'm still looking into this Import from Online Scratch. I've uploaded a file from my Pi (now that the functionality is there in nuScratch). But how do I get it back ??? Re: Weather reports in Scratch

Some dependencies are not installed by default.
I got around them by using

Code: Select all

sudo pip3 install pyowm
sudo pip3 --pre scratch
