Transmission help

I have tried setting up my pi so it can download torrents to a USB drive. However, the transmission web interface is giving me all sorts of errors like: "Not enough space", "incorrect file permissions" and other errors. Sometimes, it only downloads to the pi's SD card, not the USB drive. I have edit...

I can't seem to get SMB to work.

I tried to make my raspberry pi a NAS. I put the "share" folder on a flash drive and it's displayed on my network. I could connect and log in to it with my mac, but I can't move any folders or files on or off of it. I was also wondering if I could put the "shares" folder on the Pi's SD card?

Re: Wayland/Weston?

Will the hardware acceleration make the GUI animations smoother? Will it let me watch videos in VLC? I suspect that this will still be problematical as VLC runs purely on the ARM processor and the Pi simply does not have enough CPU power to decode high definition video without hardware assist from ...

Wayland/Weston?

I'm wondering when X11 will be replaced with Wayland/Weston. I also have a few more questions. Will the GUI be different or will you still use LXDE? Will the hardware acceleration make the GUI animations smoother? Will it let me watch videos in VLC?

Re: file is corrupt

After I unzip the folder with the .img file, it says it's corrupt. Iv'e tried many times and many different files. It never works for me. That image file is not corrupt. I checked that. Probably your problem is due to something else. In side this zip file there are two other files. One is the image...

You give very little information to help you. Can you clarify what exactly you want to do, please? What steps did you take? At what point do you get the error message? And what is the error? I assume that you have downloaded this file: http://scotland.proximity.on.ca/raspberrypi/raspberrypi-fedora-...

I'm using 64 bit window 7 and the built-in unzip program.

This is very dangerous if taken literally IMHO. Updating the FAQ
seems to be difficult since the foundation members have
squeeze it in while doing their regular jobs.

Did you always do a

Code: Select all

sudo shutdown -t now
before ?

No.

SD card is not stable.

My Pi's SD card seems to get corrupted frequently. Here's an example: I flashed it yesterday, then today, I did sudo apt-get upgrade then it crashed on me. Is there any way of fixing this? The pi is not overclocked.

I just realized that the fan's power consumption made the Pi restart every 3-4 seconds. I'll have to find a lower powered fan for my case.

Ethernet does not work when I use the GPIO (solved)

I made myself a case for my Raspberry pi, and it has a small fan in it. The fan is powered off of 5V from the GPIO. When I plugged in my pi, it started up normally, but none of the Ethernet lights lit up. I made sure the cable was plugged into my router, still nothing. I unplugged the fan, then rest...
