Re: SIGILL when debugging my QT application only

Usually if you get a SIGILL only at the start when debugging it's because one of the libraries is doing a runtime check to see what instructions are supported (libcrypt does this). They do it by installing a trap and attempting to execute a possibly illegal instruction. When debugging the debugger ...

SIGILL when debugging my QT application only

Sorry if there's a better place to ask this, but I'm lost. I have a fairly involved qt application (https://philsprojects.wordpress.com/2014/03/10/smart-kegerator/) that I'm developing in QTCreator. I can 'Run' the application just fine, and everything launches and works as expected. But now when I ...

Thanks iinnovations!

I'd love to hear any criticism/ideas anyone has.

This is just version 1 so there's still lots of polish left to be done!

Smart Kegerator - flowmeter, facial recognition, touchscreen

Hey guys, I wanted to make a simple, passive system to record beer pours on the house kegerator and to charge everyone the right amount when it came time to refill the keg. I used a lot of help from this site so I wanted to share where I'm at and the source for anyone trying to get the raspberry pi ...

Run script on startup before x11 starts

Hello, I'd like to write a small script that will search for my touchscreen in the list of attached devices, and if present, use one xorg.conf file (sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg-touch.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf), and if it's not present, use a different xorg.conf (sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg-NOtouch.conf /etc/X11/x...

Re: Adafruit DHT temp/humid sensor

Hi danjperron, I tried for a couple hours to get the SPI to show using my older build of raspbian (about 2 months old) with no luck, unless I overrwrote my kernel, which removed my other kernel options like display link support and touchscreen support. I'm sure this would be easy for someone, but it...

Re: Adafruit DHT temp/humid sensor

Thanks danjperron! That sounds reasonable, but I'm pretty new to Linux and building kernels/modules. I will google how to build a module from source when I get home!

Thanks!

Re: Adafruit DHT temp/humid sensor

Thanks for the detailed response danjperron! I guess I should've been clearer. I followed all of those instructions, but for some reason when I run your code I see: File "./dht22spi.py", line 40, in __init__ self.spi.open(0,0) IOError: [Errnp 2] No such file or directory When I run 'modprobe spidev'...

Re: Adafruit DHT temp/humid sensor

Thanks for the code danjperron. I will probably try this later on, but apparently SPI is no longer built into the raspbian kernel, so I have to build a new kernel to try :( (modprobe spidev says not found, but I followed all of the instructions above) For now I am using a modified version of technio...

Re: Adafruit DHT temp/humid sensor

I just wanted to chime in and thank technion for his code! I was using the Adafruit script and getting valid temp/hums back about 20% of the time, only calling the script every 5 seconds. Even worse, the script was occasionally hanging and using 100% remaining cpu. A quick google led me here, and af...

Re: Mimo 720-S Touchscreen [Solved]

Hi mlabieniec, I believe the problem now is that the 3.2.27-mimo2.img kernel is out of date, and running the apt-get upgrade installs a new kernel with new dependencies, so swapping in the old kernel breaks things. What we likely need is a freshly built kernel, built using the latest packages and ad...

On a related note, is there any way to play back these h264 files on the pi?

Record video for unknown duration

Hello, I did some searching to see if anyone had already solved this, my apologies if this is a repost, but I recently got my camera board and have been having fun playing with it using the raspivid command. However, for the project I'm working on, I would like to start the camera and begin recordin...

Only issue is trying to do anything on X causes it to freeze. Anyone got any better resul...
