Re: STICKY: Debian Jessie with PIXEL desktop i386 for PC and Mac

Using SD Card Copier to copy Raspbian x86 I have Raspbian Jessie x86 on a 4 GB SD card, and now I want to copy it to an 8 GB SD card, since I need more space. I have plugged in both cards into a Raspberry Pi 3 using USB card writers. I use SD Card Copier in Raspbian Jessie ARM, and from device and ...

Sense HAT compatibility with Microbit

About the blocks for Sense HAT, I think the Foundation should be inspired by the official blocks for micro:bit: https://llk.github.io/microbit-extension/#blocks They have more blocks now inside ScratchX: http://scratchx.org/?url=https://llk.github.io/microbit-extension/microbit_extension.js#scratch ...

Re: Programming joystick in Sense HAT w/ Scratch?

Has someone tried the joystick in Scratch 2 in Debian Stretch? The sensors and the LED matrix works well, but I can not use the joystick in Scratch 2. Someone else?. Thanks It works for me as the arrow keys events, and there is an "enter" among the keys, for the joystick press, which doesn't exist ...

But if you configure PD0-7 of ATTINY88 as inputs and vary RGB maybe you could measure some interval on PD0-7.

SOLVED: Lubuntu 16.04: chromium-browser don't start

I have run chromium-browser on Lubuntu 16.04 for Raspberry Pi 2 successfully for a long time, but with the next latest dist-upgrade it didn't start, and today chromium-browser was updated to the latest, and this does also not start even though I rebooted. When I start it from LXTerminal I get: $ chr...

SOLVED: Investigation of an icon-bug in tosh.tjvr.org

I try to investigate a bug in http://tosh.tjvr.org/ that is used to develop Scratch2-projects using text. The bug is that most icons are missing when I test it, but many others doesn't have this problem. There are supposed to be icons above the scene at http://tosh.tjvr.org/app/ and when you mouse o...

The challenges in coding have been the coordinate system, x, z lay flat and y is height; and the box number '0' seems to be something like 'void', with a box type '35' I could build some piles. Re: Using Scratch with Minecraft

It is possible to control Minecraft PI Edition using the built-in Scratch 1.4, see this project:
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/13703270/
Also see this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyxO5gANs3I
I've not tested this in a long time, so something could have changed that breaks it.

Runs out of RAM, has to pull plug

It happens that I run out of RAM (Random Access Memory) when I use the web browser Chromium on e.g. Twitter. I have a RAM-indicator ("Resource monitor") and 1 GB RAM - 64 MB for GPU. First the Raspberry Pi becomes slow and then it freezes completely. I usually can't shut down the tab or the browser,...

Web Hosting Service on a Raspberry Pi for Students

I would like to run a web hosting service on a Raspberry Pi. It's for a course in web development for senior high school students. Scratch can do what it likes, we're talking about C here.... Got the message yet ? I don't agree with the message. I think one must take into account what the readers know before (e.g. Scratch) and the competition (e.g. Java, C++, or ARM-assembly). Maybe one also needs to add fork() to a beginners ...

Re: The MagPi does C :-)

I think the book should include function pointers and longjmp, because it’s what’s needed to emulate polymorphism and exceptions from C++ in C, respectively. You do know that the book is intended for beginners don't you? I can't see why you would think such topics are suitable for a beginners book....

I also think that Flash should be in its own package, and not in rpi-chromium-mods. It's OK for me if Flash is installed by default, but it should be easy to uninstall. Re: The MagPi does C :-)

I’ve written a Tetris-program for Raspberry Pi that is beyond this book because it uses function pointers and longjmp. https://github.com/mobluse/blockis It also uses SPI to a MAX7219 8x8 LED matrix. I think the book should include function pointers and longjmp, because it’s what’s needed to emulate...
