Re: Needs to have audio cable connected to screen otherwise black screen

Thanks! Yes I have tested now with connecting the inner ring of the audio cable in the Pi end to ground on Pi and then the screen works. I think it's very strange that ground on the HDMI to DVI-D adapter or the HDMI cable doesn't work. Is this a common problem? While not common, it's not unheard of...

Re: Needs to have audio cable connected to screen otherwise black screen

Sounds as if the screen's DVI input is referenced to the Pi's ground only via the audio cable Thanks! [SOLVED] Needs to have audio cable connected to screen otherwise black screen

I have a strange situation where I need to have a 3.5 mm stereo cable connected between the screen and the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B audio socket in order to have a picture on the screen. If I disconnect the stereo cable in either end the screen immediately becomes black and sleep starts shortly after....

Re: Official Raspberry Pi keyboard

However, we see no reason why it should not work You have a USB hub chip that speaks PS/2 ??? we are USB compliant. The nature of passive adapters is that they do not convert anything. So the PS/2 signal provided to the USB connector will not be USB compliant. There are certainly keyboards and mice...

Re: Layout of new official keyboard

Can Fn+Z on the US keyboard work as the key left of Z on the other keyboards? (The US keyboard seems to have one less key.) The Z key works like this on my Eee PC 900 with Nordic keyboard layout. The official Raspberry Pi keyboard doesn’t have Insert. Is there a way to type Insert using e.g. Fn+Dele...

Re: Official Raspberry Pi keyboard

I think the next version of the official Raspberry Pi keyboard should be constructed so that modifications would be easier. E.g. the circuit boards should have lots of solder pads or possibility to solder on pins for internal USB etc. and the box, prepared cutouts for the connectors. "Hacking the of...

Re: Raspberry Pi Desktop on Lubuntu for x86?

I did fix this bug with USB in systemd manually in the file in Lubuntu 18.04 x86, but there are still problems after a while with "socket connect failed" with pigs, and "connect: Network is unreachable" with ping6. The solution to disconnect and reconnect the Pi Zero works, but it's uncomfortable.

Re: Raspberry Pi Desktop on Lubuntu for x86?

I think I lower my ambition and only try to install the some of the Raspbian programs in Lubuntu 18.04 x86-32 and not the desktop. I now installed Raspberry Pi Zero GPIO Expander, and it works, but it's not that stable and it doesn't start if you plug it into the same USB-port a second time during t...

Re: Raspberry Pi Desktop on Lubuntu for x86?

I think it should not be more difficult to install than to add one repository, update, install one package that pulls in the rest, and reboot. I installed Tvheadend in Lubuntu in this way.

Is there a special repository for Raspberry Pi Desktop or is this included in the standard Debian distribution?

Raspberry Pi Desktop on Lubuntu for x86?

I have a Eee PC 900 (x86) that is running Lubuntu 18.04. Could I install Raspberry Pi Desktop on that Lubuntu? I.e. could I get the desktop and all other programs that come with the Raspberry Pi Desktop for x86 Lubuntu? The reason I prefer Lubuntu instead of Debian is the higher quality, e.g. the co...

Re: Power antenna to TV HAT through antenna cable

I now use the old DVB-T box to power the antenna in stead of the 6 V power supply. I connected the antenna to it on RF-in and the TV HAT to RF-out. This works even if the box is in standby, but if I pull the plug to the box the signal from the antenna disappears, as expected.

Direct antenna for TV HAT for different channels

I have a TV µHAT and live close to at least two different TV broadcast towers (Jägersro, Malmö, Sweden & Copenhagen, Denmark) that are about 45 degrees apart here. I try to change the direction of the antenna and use this oneliner in Raspian Stretch to find the best direction for each TV transmitter...

Power antenna to TV HAT through antenna cable

I have an indoor TV-antenna that is powered by 6V through a separate jack, but it can also be powered though the antenna cable when I use an old DVB-T box, but the TV HAT doesn't provide power. It would be less cluttering of cables if I could find some adapter that I could connect the 6 V to and pow...

What do you need it for? I could use it to read news when I have no Internet. It could also be used in crisis situations. I live in Scania and can only see Swedish and Danish terrestrial TV from here and there is probably no channels with MHEG-5 here, but I might visit a place where they have chann...

Re: MicroSD-card has become readonly

I used this microSD card in a camera so it should be an allowed device according to the warranty since it only takes pictures and movies when you press buttons. I had used the card in a Pi before that and it was last formatted to FAT32 in a Raspberry Pi. I had only taken three pictures with it, but ...

Re: MicroSD-card has become readonly

I think the error messages should be better and say that the card has been written to too many times. As it is now the OS pretend it's working, and it's when you insert it again that you find out that there was no changes. In some cases there are cryptic error messages.

MicroSD-card has become readonly

I have an microSD-card (SanDisk Ultra 16GB HC I (10)) that has become readonly. Then I used: sudo fdisk -l To create one W95 FAT32 (LBA) partition, and formatted using: sudo m...
