How to Type Pause/Break with the Official Raspberry Pi Keyboard

How do you type Pause/Break on the official Raspberry Pi Keyboard? It's some emulator that needs this. I've read that on some Lenovos without Pause/Break you type Fn+P and Fn+B, but that does not work on the Raspberry Pi Keyboard, e.g. Fn+P types Num Pad -, and Fn+B types b, according to xev . One c...

Re: 8086tiny

I found a program that works rather well with 8086tiny: https://github.com/keaston/cp437 It makes CP437 character set work in LXTerminal. I currently run it like this: ../cp437/cp437 ./runme I run into one problem, and that is that F1 doesn't work as it should in HELP and LXTerminal, but this is a p...

Re: 8086tiny

I would prefer 1 since then you can try all three binaries. runme could be called 8086tiny and be in a bin directory. There were some special features of the old package (search for "raspbian" on the page): https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/8086tiny-free-pc-xt-emulator/ The no-graphics version also h...

Re: I get 'command not found' not a prompt to apt-get

I would like it to work in Rasbian Buster like it does in Ubuntu, but it is not easy getting it to work. I installed and rebooted, and logged in again. sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade sudo apt install command-not-found sudo update-command-not-found sudo reboot After I log in again I try: $ ...

Running lights on the keyboard LEDs in X

This command line in Raspbian Buster at the Linux console (Ctrl+Alt+F1 in X) shows running lights on the keyboard LEDs: while true; do setleds +num ; sleep 0.1 ; setleds -num ; setleds +caps ; sleep 0.1 ; setleds -caps ; setleds +scroll ; sleep 0.1 ; setleds -scroll ; sleep 0.7 ; done (Assuming the ...

I have a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 4 GB RAM and 256 MB GPU memory, and it runs most full-upgraded Raspbian Buster. Some times when I do sudo reboot from other computers the Pi is not rebooted. Making a screenshot of 1 of 2 screens on Pi4B

When I use scrot to make a screnshot with my Raspberry Pi 4 B (4 GB RAM & 256 MB GPU memory & 2 screens) it always act as if I use --multidisp (For multiple heads, grab shot from each and join them together). I would like to be able to make a screenshot of only one of the screens e.g. HDMI-1. Is the...

Re: Spotify on the pi

I think this trick of getting https://open.spotify.com/ to work by setting user agent to IE10 worked when there was Flash in Chromium for Raspbian, but that seems removed since Raspbian Buster. There is still Flash in Raspbian Buster since Scratch 2 uses it. Is it possible to get Chromium with Flash...

I started a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+T and in that I typed lxpanel and Enter. Then I got some menubar that looks different, but which contains the running programs and I can start new programs. This worked in Raspbian Buster. It is also possible to get to the running programs without a menu bar by usi...

I still wonder if h264ify is an advantage on Pi 4, or not.

Aspect Mode/Ratio in OMXPlayer doesn't work for me

Before when I used OMXPlayer the movie was automatically displayed in the correct aspect ratio, but as large as possible. Now it is stretched to fill the entire screen. In order to get it in the right aspect ratio I have to do computations, e.g. omxplayer --display 7 --win 0,152,1280,872 movie.mp4 I...
