Garden Irrigation Automation

Hi, I have thought of a great idea for the Raspberry Pi: A garden irrigation system! Basically, the Raspberry Pi GPIO will be connected to a Sparkfun Beefcake relay which will handle the switching of the high voltage power supply. When I say high voltage, I'm not sure what voltage will be required. ...

Re: Saving images to SD card

Hi, After experimenting with 'motion' I have managed to get my pi saving pictures every 10 seconds into a specific folder. Although I have a major issue. In the motion config file, there are two parameters... frame rate for the webcam, and minimum time in seconds between capturing. I have the latter...

Saving images to SD card

Hi, I have a Microsoft webcam and I would like to make what I'm hoping will be a fairly simple project... I simply want to grab images from my webcam every 30 seconds and save them into a folder in the Raspberry Pi's home directory. That is all... I have tried programs such as motion and opencv and ...

315MHz Remote

Hi,

Simple question: what sort of remote controls operate at 315MHz. I am trying to get the following receiver to work: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1097

I discovered that some remotes are encrypted. Will I have to purchase Adafruit's matching keyfob or can I use a generic remote?

Thanks

RF Reciever and keyfob

Hi, I have just purchased an RF receiver from Adafruit (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1097) Adafruit states that I must have the "matching" keyfob to go with the module. The module has four outputs and the keyfob has four buttons. The keyfob is set to 315MHz and looks very similar to a remote car...

PIR Motion Sensor and Relay

Hi, I am using a PIR motion sensor to activate a relay which in turn powers a light bulb. What I would like to do is the following: I would like to activate the sensor and have the light turn on; then I would like to activate the motion sensor again (after a minimum of say 2 seconds) to turn the lig...

Re: Switch a relais with a gpio pin

The best relay is the Sparkfun BeefCake Relay. Give it an input of 3.3v and it will activate another circuit. It can control circuits from 3.3v to 230v and 20A! I tried all sorts of relays to use with the Pi, and none worked. Until I found this thing. Worked within 5 mins of wiring up. http://www.yo...

Hi,

The webcam is called a TCM 234282. With dmesg, is there a specific command I have to type in to get the result for the specific device?

Thanks

Webcam Interface

Hi,

I have recently discovered a TCM 234282 USB webcam. My aim is to use it in one of my Raspberry Pi projects, but before I do, I would simply like to get it working.

Does anybody know of a client which I can download which will allow me to use this particular webcam.

Thanks

Are you sure they are continuous rotation? My only experience of them is that you select the rotation speed by setting the pulse width. I.e. 1500 (mid-point) stationary, 2000 clockwise rotation, 1000 anticlockwise rotation. I don't know how your setServo function is converting its argument (apparen...

If you were to be running top you might well see this change in parentage occur. The process ID of the child process should be found, you d...
