No, others didn't see the exact pricing, they entered their credit card and there was no "This will cost $62.84"

Re: n64 emulator port

There really isn't a lot that is comparable to the BCM2835. In that package you have effectively got a previous-generation ARM CPU core bolted to a next-generation GPU core. Most of the other SoC's on the market have either single- or dual-core current-generation ARM CPU bolted to one of several cu...

Re: R-Pi Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MM

Umm, doing this in Python comes off as a pretty bad idea. 1) Py is beginner friendly, but beginners cannot contribute to a 3D MMORPG. 2) Py is slow. We have limited hardware on the Pi. 3) Py does not work well for large projects. Also, will FriendlyFruit use already existing network communication co...

3D Camera Board for Pi

I saw the add-on camera board, but it would be cool if there were two cameras, so it can take 3D pictures.. even if you could just buy 2 camera boards, it has the be a constant distance apart.

Smartphone to Linux Box?

I think the Raspberry Pi Foundation should try trying to turn kids Android smartphones / Jailbroken iPhones into linux devices when they attach a monitor / kb/m, like what ubuntu has done. Lots of people have smartphones, and the hardware specs of smartphones are similar to Raspberry pi anyway.

Re: $62.84 for my Pi?? What the Heck Farnell!?

Seriously? Day 1: "Here, buy Raspberry pi at [x] or [y]!" Day x: "Pricing updates from [x], it will cost $[z]!" Shipping: Charges $[z]+20 to credit card. Isn't this misleading advertising / fraud or something? On launch day, nobody were told that "Raspberry pis will cost $62.84 as we're going to shi...

Re: Viacoms Raspberry Pi competitor: APC 8750

There's really 2 classes of Pi-like-breeds that people will buy:

1) Really cheap Linux chips, ~$30
2) PC-on-a-stick, ~$80

APC 8750 is in the middle and will not sell well.

Pi-like USB stick computer. 1.5GHz, $76

There's a new Android USB-stick device that sells for $76. Runs Android 4.0, rooted, you can install another arm linux distro too. It looks like a good device to buy if you're tired of waiting for the Pi. It's more expensive, but also more powerful. It's going to be rebranded under a lot of differen...

Assuming it's handled correctly, not overclocked, etc, how long would the pi last before breaking? A few months of 7x24 usage?

Lol, my 4S gets 1 hour 30 minutes of battery life playing games that maxes out the hardware.

Re: Does it REALLY have twice the power of a 4S?

The 4S features a pretty powerful GPU that runs extremely good looking games on a high definition resolution (960 by 640). How the hell can RPi beat it, since the RPi is $25?
