Similar problem, solved it by plugging the Pi into a tv with the RCA first and then accessing the /boot/config.txt file and uncommenting (remove hash) just the hdmi_drive=2 and nothing else then save. Use the File Manger - Tools - Open Current Folder as Root for easy access and then use the Leafpad ...

You don't havet to type anything use the button on right of the window to find the wheezy img file that you unzipped. It will probably be in a directory of the same name. Make sure you select the right SD drive to download it to, usually it sets it OK, but some folk have mulitple cards/drives instal...
