Yes i know about the # commenting things out. Those are all the things i tried to get the static ip address to work. That is why i asked if i could find a clean file out there to get it back to the default.

I am trying to give my Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspbian buster a static IP address. I am new to this and am trying to learn. I have been modifying the dhcpcd.conf file. That was the problem but I was assuming since the directory was capitalized the command should be also. I was wrong. I removed and reinstalled but it still seems to lock up when I execute. Any suggestions?

We'll thanks to you all i got it working by installing XQuartz on my Mac. I can now work from the GUI but the progra "scratch" gets locked up when try to use it. It never loads. Rookie needs help on PI OS

I downloaded the contents of Noobs to my sd and thought I installed Raspbian. (I had several choices so I may have picked the wrong one). When the os boots up it takes me to Scratch instead of a GUI for Raspbian. Can someone tell me where i went wrong.

I am connected to my RPI using VNC viewer on my mac. I am trying to open an alternate console window by pressing Alt F2. A "color LCD" display box for my mac it the result. How do you get alternate consoles using VNC on a mac?

The keyboard works fine on other things i use it on. It has a 5V 1.5 A rating and it is plugged directly into the RPi. I am not sure what USB type it is. It is a Dell SK-8135 keyboard. I will look it up and reply back. Thanks for your help
