Re: Javafx Full Screen Problem

Hi, 1. This looks like a mismatch between what the video core drivers think the screen resolution is and what the framebuffer devices /dev/fb0 thinks the resolution is. I suggest checking that the hdmi_group and hdmi_mode settings in /boot/config.txt match the screen's actual pixel size. If you have...

Re: Java FX - no texts displayed

Hi,

Would you try running with -Dprism.debugfonts=true and post the results?
It is possible that JavaFX is somehow failing to talk to fontconfig. Another thing you could try is -Dprism.useFontConfig=false

Thanks,
Daniel

Re: javaFx Displaylink framebuffer

You can't get accelerated rendering on fb1 because EGL doesn't support it. That is discussed in detail here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=58952 If you can manage with software rendering to /dev/fb1 then you could try running OpenJFX (https://wiki.openjdk.java.net/displa...

Re: JavaSE Embedded 8 + JavaFX for Raspberry PI (hard float)

Hi, It would be possible to support media in JavaFX on ARM platforms but we don't currently have it on our roadmap. The place to discuss this is the openjfx-dev alias (http://mail.openjdk.java.net/mailman/listinfo/openjfx-dev). See also: - https://wiki.openjdk.java.net/display/OpenJFX/OpenJFX+on+the...

Hi, Dave Hill has a presentation on JavaFX performance on the Pi at http://www.parleys.com/share_channel.html#play/524f478ce4b0c4f11ec57606/about We have found that it is possible to get performant user interfaces on the Pi, but clearly controls are more demanding of CPU time than simple nodes. Can ...

You could try running with -Dprism.printallocs=true -Dprism.printStats=true to get more visibility into the texture pool.

Re: Accelerated 2d & 3d with JavaFX8 or ...?

Nota bene, since the 3DViewer demo uses a native file chooser dialogue when you want to click the load model button, it does not open something on the PI with its JavaFX's full-screen and no X11 ( JavaFX doc ). Adding the model's name as parameter in the console works. Is there a way to also use a ...

Re: Permission problem when reading input devices directly

The security issue to be aware of is that code running in the "input" group has access to all input events in the system. However, Joan's solution is correct, and this is how Raspbian is set up for the default user "pi": $cat /etc/group root:x:0: daemon:x:1: bin:x:2: [..snipped.....

Re: Java Midi Synthersizer

I don't know about the Java Sound API, but from a Linux perspective I suspect the problem is that the user running the process is not in the "audio" group. If you are running as user "pi" on Raspbian then you should already be in the audio group. If not, you might need to modify ...

Hi Fidelius, It's great to have 2D and 3D acceleration in the upcoming standard Java 8 for all platforms. I really hope it's for all platforms. Also Linux, and Pi, etc. Does anybody know details here? Not *all* platforms, but a good selection. Windows, OS X, Linux/x86 and Linux/ARM. For Linux/ARM th...

Re: javafx no jfxrt.jar in JDK

Hi,

JavaFX in JDK for ARM is split into two JAR files:

jdk1.8.0/jre/lib/ext/jfxrt-controls.jar
jdk1.8.0/jre/lib/ext/jfxrt-graphics.jar

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi,

No, JavaFX for ARM does not currently support the media component. It is probably possible to build media as part of OpenJFX, but JDK for ARM does not include it.

Thanks,
Daniel

Re: JavaFX and omxplayer

I reproduced this; the problem is not specifically the lack of animation, but that the Stage is not transparent in the first frame in which it is shown. I will open a JIRA for tracking; I don't have a workaround at the moment except to render more than one frame.

If you are running Raspbian you can edit /etc/rc.local to start your application. This isn't specific to Java, of course.

Hi Techtasys, I'm afraid you're out of luck trying to do this on the Pi. JavaFX for ARM doesn't support either the Media component or JavaFX/Swing integration. We've had some success in the past integrating a JavaFX UI layered on top of hardware decoded media using omxplayer. If you set a transparen...

Hi tfpereira,

You'll probably want to enable transparency to show JavaFX and video at the same time: run with
-Dcom.sun.javafx.transparentFramebuffer=true

Thanks,

Hi Torsten, I was able to use eglCreateImageKHR to render to a texture in one thread and render the texture to the framebuffer in another thread.
