Sorry, but that reply makes no sense, and this case is far from closed. I would think that alot of users out there probably won't have a hdmi type tv. if that is the case and they only have the option of using rca video, then they need to be able to change the screen resolution. if that is possible....

also ... apologies for the carpet bombing of posts ... my first project with the rpi will be video capture and video storage only.

so i'd need as minimal an os footprint as possible for this requirement.
