Re: RPi not show at Dashboard.

As recommended by Microsoft, use ethernet network (cable) first.
It´s more simple to connect.

Re: Wifi dongle not working

Anon,

In my opinion the voltage must be closest to 5,0Vdc. I think if you are measuring 4,8 V, it is not good enough,
Use good power supply. ( 5V >= 1A ) . I made mine power supply using 7805 regulator an I measure 4,95V !
And use USB Hub with additional external supply .

Dave , I searched information about CADDX alarm. The company moved to http://interlogix.com. Is this correct? Reading about the interface NX-584, I believe it will not be that simple decode the Caddx NX-8 alarm interface. I believe that use RS-485, and the data are probably encrypted. Note that you ...

Try to use PI emulator in your PC.
I think you can compile C in the Pi emulator window, with some limitations.

Re: gpio with python - input voltage

Dirk if you wish to use only a button, use a pullup resistor of 10K ohms. If you dont use it , the input will float. IMPORTANT CAUTION: (from RPI Wiki page) : GPIO voltage levels are 3.3 V and are not 5 V tolerant. There is no over-voltage protection on the board - the intention is that people inter...

Raspberry Pi use low dropout regulators (chinese) to achieve 3,3V and 1,8V from 5V power source.

5V to 3,3V LDO regulator (REG 2) : SE8117T33

5V to 1,8V LDO regulator (REG 1) : SE8117T18
