Re: Full KMS in Buster Lite?

Ah yes, it’s a Pi 4 (as shown in the output of raspinfo included above). I didn’t realize the distro would lack components for Pi 4.

Re: Full KMS in Buster Lite?

I put the middle Raspbian (Raspbian Buster with desktop, but not with recommended software) on another SD card, and that, too, only offers legacy and fake KMS.

Re: Full KMS in Buster Lite?

Alas, that doesn't work. I don't get any of the boot console display, and although I can ssh into the machine, SDL2 won't even initialize now, whereas before it would initialize but fail to create a window. I actually got it to work with fake KMS, but I'd like to get full KMS. I must be missing piec...

Code: Select all

$ sudo apt upgrade raspi-config
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
raspi-config is already the newest version (20190709).

Re: Full KMS in Buster Lite?

Just to be clear…you've got Raspbian Buster Lite dated 2019-07-10 installed?

Full KMS in Buster Lite?

I'm trying to use SDL2 without X11 or all the overhead of a desktop/window manager. So far I haven't been able to create an SDL2 window, but some helpers online have told me to enable the "Full KMS" driver. I attempted to do so with raspi-config, but there's no option for it, only "legacy" and "fake...

Re: Difference in RASPBIAN STRETCH WITH DESKTOP and RASPBIAN STRETCH LITE.

Does Raspbian Lite include Avahi, or some other way to find it to ssh into it? Or must I connect a keyboard and monitor?

Porting NuttX

Hi. I'm developing an accessory around the SoC in the RPi, and so it ends up being a good prototyping platform. However, I need very fast boot (< 1 s). This might be achievable by stripping down Linux and modifying the bootloader and kernel, but an alternative would be to use NuttX (or some other RT...

Re: Are both UARTS available?

Thank you. That pretty much kills the RPi for the project I had in mind, unless I add some kind of SPI USART or something. Bah.

Are both UARTS available?

Reading the about the peripherals on the Broadcom SoC, it's clear there are two UARTs on the chip (although one is a "lesser" UART). Looking at the Wiki, UART0 and UART1 share GPIOs. But the doc suggests it's possible to put them on different GPIOs. I'm not sure if those are brought out on the heade...

Re: Clang compiler on Raspbian

Have you gotten anywhere with clang? Have you tried 3.2? I want to use LLVM in a language I'm writing, and I'd like it to execute on my Raspberry Pi, so I'm going to try to build that. It would be awesome to have clang on there, too. There's also this: http://llvm.org/docs/HowToBuildOnARM.html#how-t...

Re: JavaSE Embedded 8 + JavaFX for Raspberry PI (hard float)

I'm excited about hard-float support in Java. I do a lot of webapp development using J2EE. Is it reasonable to try to run this on RaspberryPi?
