Re: pi store viruses

Hi there!

I'm afraid I share the scepticism of the previous posters. However, if you click the "Report this product" link on the app's page in the Pi Store and describe the symptoms you're experiencing, we'll investigate. :)

Thanks for your time,

Hi there,

Could you grant a licence to the user "Pankoi", please? I'll take a look at it.

Thanks,

Re: can't access the store

Hi experix, I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble accessing the Pi Store. I've had some troubles on my home connection recently too, so you're not alone. I'll pass it on to the relevant people and I'll let you know if there are any details I need. Thanks for reporting it. :) As always, I'd ...

Hi funclimber,

When you say it didn't work when you tried to start Little Crane, what happened? Did you get an error of any sort? :)

Re: OpenXCom for Pi

Hi Aidan, The issue I believe you're having with copying to those locations is that they require elevated permissions to write to. This is a security feature, which is meant to prevent rogue or misfunctioning programs (or users!) from making unauthorised changes to your system directories. An easy w...

Hi again, Aidan, I'm really pleased to hear you got the shortcut stuff figured out - things will get easier and it sounds like you're doing pretty well to me! As for resources on learning the bash commands, may I recommend you try starting a topic in the Beginners sub-forum ? The folks there are ver...

Re: Can't find programs

Hi Aidan, All the Pi Store's content is located in /usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps In the case of The Little Crane That Could in particular, the file to launch is a bash script at /usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps/littlecrane/Full/startlittlecrane.sh You should be able to find online how...

Re: How do i run a app in termainal

Is it a Pi Store app you're referring to? If so, the Pi Store apps are kept in /usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps/ - if you navigate from there downwards, you'll find the storage of individual apps - not everything can be launched outside X, but if it can, you'll likely find the relevant file to...

Re: Pi Store does not work

The Pi should set its clock automatically if you're connected to the internet when you boot it up. However, you should also be able to set it post-boot with something like: sudo ntpd -qg If the Pi can't run that command, you might need to install ntp (sudo apt-get install ntp). If the timezone's inc...

Re: Pi Store does not work

Hm - that's an odd one. There's an issue I'm aware of where the 'Log In' prompt continues to show in the top-right and that could cause what you're describing. Could you please confirm that your Pi's system time is correct? If it's more than an hour out, it can cause problems with our authentication...

Re: Pi Store does not work

The Pi Store content isn't inherently available through apt (it's a lot easier for developers to make things available through the Pi Store than through an apt repo), so whilst some stuff is available, the majority of it isn't. However, the Pi Store should be able to download remotely, like you're t...

Hi elatllat,

The Pi Store has a lot of software, including tutorials and magazines, which isn't available through apt. :)

Re: Pi Store does not work

I can't download stuff using the Pi Store, only through the terminal. Is there a way to download the free software from the store using the terminal? I am using my pi via VNC, and only my computer can talk to it, if that makes a difference. Hi there, What's preventing you from downloading things vi...

Re: CVSS no approval for 4 months

Hi there, According to my personal records, your app failed review several months ago (sometime in July, I believe). I can also confirm it's not in the review queue currently, so the failure definitely appears to have been processed in our system. However, I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't rece...

Re: Cannot download anything

Hi Chad,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Those sort of symptoms are usually caused if your Pi's system time is incorrect - it causes problems with our authentication. Could you check that your system time is correct, please?

Thanks,

Re: Install Failed? (Open Arena)

Hi there,

If you get the "Install Failed" message in a terminal which is attempting to install the content, what does it say above the "Install Failed" message? That's where any relevant errors are likely to appear. :)

Hope that helps,

Re: Pi Store

Hi folgad0, You can upload a game in the language or engine of your choice. However, you must ensure that that the game's dependencies are installed (you can do this with an install script) and whilst the Pi Store can launch binary and python files itself, you'll need to write a bash launcher script...

Re: No support

I've moved this topic as it doesn't pertain to the Pi Store (resident at store.raspberrypi.com), but instead refers to swag.raspberrypi.org - don't worry, I know it's confusing. As such, I'm afraid we can't provide any support for this issue in the Pi Store forum.

Good luck!

If you'd like, I'm sure a kindly moderator would split the topic if you asked them. I'm afraid this subforum is beyond my domain of control. *evil laugh* ;)

I'm just going to move this to the 'Gaming' subforum as given that it's not an issue with the Pi Store software itself, I think you might be more likely to get the answers you need there. :)

Re: SCAMP improved with new features

For what it's worth, as well, since some changes to moderation procedures about a year ago, the enforcement of certain things has become more strict. For example, an app which unnecessarily requires sudo permissions to function correctly would likely be picked up and rejected on that basis. Unfortun...

Re: SCAMP improved with new features

Hi again. :) I understand what you mean now. However, I don't believe it's a Pi Store problem - or rather, to be more accurate, I believe it's more the responsibility of individual app developers than myself as a Pi Store developer. I realise that last sentence makes it sound as if I'm trying to shi...
