Re: Best way to control RPis via a web sockets server?

I think mosquito will work for what I'm trying to do. I have a broker set up, and a PHP client. I'm having trouble with the Python subscriber that will be running on the raspberry. Do you happen to have a simple Python example of subscribing to a topic?

thanks

Best way to control RPis via a web sockets server?

I want to control multiple RPis through a webpage on a central server. The RPis are spread out remotely on different networks that won't have configurable ports. My goal is to set up a websocket between them and a central websocket server. There seem to be many different choices out there and I'm re...

Video and Audio streaming

I'm trying to send a combined video and audio stream to a crtmpserver. The audio quality isn't as important as having it be low-latency and in sync. I'm close right now with this: raspivid -t 0 -w 640 -h 480 -fps 20 -b 2000000 -o - | ffmpeg -i - -f alsa -ac 1 -i hw:0,0 -map 0:0 -map 1:0 -vcodec copy...

I need help adding audio to my RTMP stream

I currently have a RTMP video stream from the camera module, and I want to add audio from a USB mic. I'm trying to set up my RPi with camera module to feed a stream to crtmpserver on a server, and from there be viewable on a webpage using JWPlayer. I've been trying many things and feel like I'm close. I just can't get video to stream to VLC or JWPlayer. Here's what I have: Send video from RPi to cr...

Best approach for controlling many RPis over the internet

I looking to control 10 or more RPis over the internet from a single website. From the googling I've been doing, I need a central web socket server that each of the Pis connect to. I'm not very familiar with web sockets and have looked into socket.io on node, autobahn and twisted, and tornado. It's ...

Could you describe the pin assignments for your easy driver module?
Thanks.

What forum was this moved to? I'm having the same issue and it'd have been nice if you linked to where the original post now is.

How to format an USB drive with root permissions?

Two questions:

1. How do I format my external USB drive with Raspbian?

2. Can a FAT partition have root ownership? If so, how?

Ok, that's 3 questions!

How/where is WiringPi installed to make this work? Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Ruby.

Re: Best Video Performance Without Using GPU

Can you please describe how you are streaming video/audio from your RPi? I've been trying several things, but have not been able to successfully stream video and audio. Here's what I've been trying with avconv with no success: avconv -v debug -f alsa -ac 1 -i hw:1,0 -acodec libmp3lame -itsoffset 00:...

Raspberry crashing when pin 25 voltage drops

I'm trying to run a simple mp3 script from adafruit , where pushing a button plays an mp3. I have a button wired up from 3.3v to pin 25. When the voltage drops, the mp3 is supposed to play. When I press the button, voltage is cut in half, but instead of playing the mp3, it crashes and reboots. Why i...

Need restored interfaces & wpa_supplicant files

I am a newbie and I've managed to completely screw up my interfaces file and my wpa_supplicant.conf file in my Raspbian install. Could somebody please post the default settings of these two files so that I can restore them properly? Thanks!
