Re: Color Emoji possible in Chromium?

Thanks for the response but still have not found a proper solution. Seems like a trivial thing but no luck whatsoever so I'm bumping this up in case anyone has had success with it.
Thanks

Re: How do I show Emoji?

Thanks for the info. But anyone getting it working properly?

I found this,
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/03/enab ... x-svg-font

But it requires Firefox. I'd like support for other browsers or even in python.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Color Emoji possible in Chromium?

I've been looking for emoji support in Raspbian for a long time and now it seems we are close. I've manages to finally get it working in Firefox using this technique http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/03/enable-color-emoji-linux-svg-font which is great. But I need it to work in Chromium and or Kweb sin...

Re: How do I show Emoji?

Ok, seems the original question led to some history lessons

But seriously, what's the current solution to get emoji to work on a pi?

Thanks

Sync content via Master Slave on same WAP network

Looking for solutions to show synchronized content via HDMI amongst several Pi's on the same network. I can imagine there is a Master/Server that pushes content to the rest of the slave pi's within the network. Essentially a web/browser app that cycles through images, text, videos etc sync'd across ...

Re: Minimal Kiosk Browser

Wow thanks again for the explanation! I installed screen and added screen to the list of direct_commands in the settings page. I've also created the iframe as you explained but nothing is happening. I've tried to manually enter a more basic command in the URL bar as follows and nothing seems to be ...

Re: Minimal Kiosk Browser

Thanks for the thorough explanation. So my issue is that I need the video to be played back in specific positions as specified in the html page. When I've used omxplayerGUI it opens alot bigger in random positions. What I need is for it to open in the exact spot specified in the HTML, to play on pa...

Re: Minimal Kiosk Browser

Thanks for the hard work this is awesome! I'm having some jittery video issues though and seems the frame rate is a bit low/choppy when playing videos in the browser. I've made an html file which plays a local mp4 video and it plays fine, but as said it's a bit choppy. If I play the same video dire...

Re: How do I show Emoji?

Thanks! Normally I like that "feature/bug" phrase but if used properly, I feel that emoji can be used as a universal way to communicate similar to hieroglyphics.

How do I show Emoji?

I haven't been able to show emoji on Raspbian and haven't seen any info on how to accomplish it. I want to use it in Python, Pygame and in a web browser. Any help or insight greatly appreciated.

Emoji on Pi

I cannot get emoji to show up on the command line or in python. Anyone have any luck figuring it out? I downloaded the Symbola font as I read about it online but still no luck.

Re: using Tweepy to 'receive' pictures

I have just loaded the original code onto a Rpi and checked it and it worked fine. If you are getting the onscreen message that the application has captured a tweet with an attached jpg then then is sounds like there is an issue with Pygame. The Rpi I used is running the latest NOOBS image recently...

Displaying images via GPU with Python?

I've searched around and found https://github.com/bcbodin/py_omxilc which looks promising but there is no documentation or example scripts. I just want to use python to iterate over files to be displayed using the GPU rather than having to use PIL/Pillow. I just need to control the position and size...

Re: OpenMAX IL Python Package

This is great. Do you have any example scripts? I'm not sure how to make this work in my python project. Perhaps someone can create an example that takes a list of images or folder of images and displays them?
Thanks

Re: using Tweepy to 'receive' pictures

There's nothing in my code sample to fetch the image URL and display it. It gets the URL ONLY. Oops sorry. I actually got DavidMS code working. But problem is, if there's no image it crashes the application. I'm having a hard time combining your entity checker with his code. Any help appreciated. Thx

I got it to work a couple times but I'm mostly ending up with a blank black screen. I can see the filename print on the console but it never shows up on screen.

Any ideas?

It's not a wall-mount but a Meanwell power supply with 12v and 5v built in is pretty cheap.

Read-Only boot, RW Data Partition For Appliance Use

I haven't been able to find any guides or info on the best way to create an Appliance using Raspbian. The main reason for Read Only is to protect the operating system if the power is pulled or if there is a crash. There needs to be data written to a separate RW partition and the possibility of being...

picamera overlay RGBA / transparent png?

I've been able to put an overlay over the live camera preview which is cool. But problem is that transparency in png files doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to put an overlay over the video preview so that certain portions appear cut-out? If not, then seems like use is very limited to just rect...
