Yes you need to explain better. If you have 6 buttons, they have per button the state on or off, as written above, that's 6 inputs. I'd say for the pi it doesn't look too difficult - getting the mechanical side of things up and running would be the challenge (or at least the expensive part). Good luck with that.

Probably bad solder joints. Those surface mount parts are hard to pick up even when they're loose! Fallen off I'd say, not ripped.

The OP didn't actually say that was a picture of his board. I think he has the picture from somewhere else and he means that these are the ones missing on his pi.

Sounds like you are in an endless loop. Maybe put it in a while loop with a condition to leave, for example keypress, GPIO input or counting variable.

Your OS is more than likely to be Raspian Wheezy. I'd reccomend updating if you have an internet connection. First log in with username pi and password raspberry. Then type sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade which should get you more up to date. Maybe take a look at http://www.themagpi.co.u...

Your method however doesn't actually clear the console screen, it just pushes everything out of sight. try this for comparision:
