Re: Safe Mode

I wanted to keep using safe mode so I've written a little program to achieve the same thing. Rather than booting two kernels it boots between two different partitions. It works for me but haven't tested much - hope it might be useful for someone.

Trigger external hardware on bcm2835 MCU reset

I have a little AVR external hardware watchdog (it does some other stuff too, so not just like the bcm2708 hardware watchdog). I'd like to be able to trigger something when the RPi MCU has reset. Are there any pins that would change state when it resets? I can't see anything obvious in BCM2835-ARM-P...

Any plans to pull it to a newer distribution.

Thanks.
It's in the rpi-update firmware as of 8 March 2013.

Re: kernel patch for Dallas 1-wire interface

Would somebody be willing to compile the 1-wire driver with the pullup option for kernel 3.6. I haven managed to...or are they already available for download somewhere ? Thank you for your support. Yours, T. Ihmann I've put what I'm using at http://matt.ucc.asn.au/rpi/361-parasite-w1.tgz If it work...

There's a pull request waiting for some more testing and feedback.

Re: kernel patch for Dallas 1-wire interface

It seems, you need the patched drivers from mkj, http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=6649&p=193456#p229425 . If it's not working, you can send him a PM. I've put the kernel and modules I'm using at http://matt.ucc.asn.au/rpi/w1-pullup-3.2.27matt1.tar.bz2 Put the .img in /boot, modules...

Re: kernel patch for Dallas 1-wire interface

Does the bus take into account the parasitic mode requirements (such as driving the data bus during conversions)? But the GPIO pin can't deliver enough current to power external devices and it could destroy the CPU, if you try it. It is not a high-current GPIO, as available on some AVR chips. I've ...
