Re: Raspberry Pi Zero with 8MP camera

I am not shure the Pi Zero will handle that. The reason Is that I am getting the ENOSPC error when grabbing images on the Pi Zero W in highest resolution ( 3280 x 2464 ) and setting the gpu ram size in the /boot/config.txt to 256 instead of 128MB does not make any difference (rebooted after that cha...

Solved / Re: v4lsloopback what did I do (wrong)

I helped myself.... The solution is very simple. For me, don't use the "modprobe v4l2loopback" because that generates a /dev/video0 where I cannot copy to. After a reboot, I confirmed with LSMOD |grep v4l2* that it was not loaded. Then I can use "sudo cp snap.jpg /dev/video0" and then there suddenly...

v4lsloopback what did I do (wrong)

Hi, I am transmitting SSDV (Slow Scan Digital Video) with a Raspberry Pi. Usually the Pi grabs an image from the USB webcam or the PiCam but at home I have not that nice view as I have from an IP camera @ 52 meter heigh. So, I did look to fake the /dev/video0 with jpg images. I did install v4l2loopb...

Re: Lora Gateway, Frequency and Antenna

Hi Johnny, I do not get it completely what you are trying to do. I do notice that on the pisky.txt you did not disable the RTTY settings for the NTX1 board. payload=PE2BZ disable_monitor=N #frequency=434.250 #baud=300 camera=Y camera_settings=-rot 180 #camera=N #low_width=960 #low_height=720 high=10...

Re: [HOWTO] Decoding pager transmissions with a Pi and rtl-s

This is strange.... If you try sudo rtl_test does that give a different message ? Other question: What do you use for power supply ? Could it be that there is not enough power for the RTLSDR (in combination with the wifi adapter) ? Can you try to use a powered USB hub ? My PI is modded, I hardwire b...

Re: [HOWTO] Decoding pager transmissions with a Pi and rtl-s

Hi, thx for your quick reply. When I run that test, I get: pi@raspberrypi ~ $ rtl_test No supported devices found. I tried howtos from different pages, but the latest and almost working attempt was when following the steps of this howto. I don't know, if I did the steps you mentioned. Could you giv...

Re: [HOWTO] Decoding pager transmissions with a Pi and rtl-s

Hi, just a simple test: run rtl_test without additions. What does it report ? If the device is listed in lsusb and you have rtl-fm I assume you have installed the rtl-sdr from osmocom ? Did you run make with enabling the udev rules to get non - root user to get access to the usb device ? After that ...

Re: [HOWTO] Decoding pager transmissions with a Pi and rtl-s

Hi,
as far as I know there are no pocsag transmissions at 123.45 MHz. Over here, that frequency is AM airband trafiic for para jumpers and commercial advertising flights.

What kind of pocsag would you like to decode ?

Kind regards,
Ben

Re: interfacing a software defined radio to the rpi

I have been running rtl-tcp on my Pi (model B) with hardwired ethernet connection for some months without problems. The Pi can run rtl-fm and tune an rtl-sdr to a single frequency in wfm or narrow fm and it can even scan a number of frequencies. The Pi is now in use for a smart meter project so no l...

Slow acting mousepad

Hi, I like my Pi, running Raspbian Wheezy Linux 7, mostly headless. However, sometimes it's nice to have it connected to a 19 inch screen and attach a mouse and keyboard. For that I use a combination like the ACK-540, which has a touchpad inside. http://www.datacal.com/p-835-ack-540-touchpad-keyboar...

Re: Streaming Raspberry Pi Camera H264 into HTML over RTMP

Hi Rayui, and all other readers. I have been trying to get this h264 to get to work without luck. Building ffmpeg from source did succeed within one hour. All other steps like cherokee and so on succeeded also. Creating the stream.html with the content from page 1 also did go right, but gave me the ...

Re: Smart meter reading problems

Hi, somehow I had the problem "solved", at least reduced to minimum holes in my graphs. Sadly after another ethernet breakdown I did reboot my Pi after which the Pi did not reboot properly. I misplaced the SD card when trying to run fsck and I actually managed to break my SD card. No recovery possib...

Re: [Solved] Ehternet fails after some days

Not quite sure from which thread I "stole" the script. I have several PC's around which I all use for Internet search (even the mediaplayer on the TV) so I have some problems finding the page back in browsers history. I have webmin running on the Pi and I check the uptime once in a while to see if i...

Re: [Solved] Ehternet fails after some days

I followed your steps, at least a sort of, and I run a script every 15 minute now, which checks if my router is still pingable and if not, restart network and if that does not resolve it, restart the Pi.

The script was in another subject on this forum about the same problem.

Kind regards,

Ben

Thanks ! After 30 days online my Pi went offline again. I copied your script and now the Pi only should reboot if it goes offline..

[Solved] Ehternet fails after some days
