Re: current best option for Kodi system?
Thanks fruitoftheloom for your comments. I appreciate the valid reasons for each of the issues I experienced with KODI on RasPi - but I don't anticipate "fixes"/updates/work arounds in the near future, so I decided KODI on RasPi is not currently a suitable solution to my stated requirement...

Re: current best option for Kodi system?
FWIW I was also attracted to the idea of KODI on RasPi. My objective is to: • play my movies from an external USB Hard Disk, and MP3 collection from a USB stick, • stream movies (currently Amazon Prime and Kanopy, but later swap to Netflix, Binge, etc), • stream live local Australian free-to-air TV ...

Looking for a 26-pin stereo AMP HAT
Hi all. I'm currently thinking to re-purpose my old Raspberry Pi model 1 (with 26 pin GPIO header) into a internet radio/music player. I want one power socket/switch (i.e. not a separate amplifier) ... so I understand that I'm looking for a 26-pin AMP HAT. Are there any 26-pin AMP HATs still on the ...

Re: Is there any Media Center Software in which one can also browse the web
For what it's worth, I am in much the same situation. I ran Libreelec on my RasPi 3 with Netflix and Aussie add-ons - but there are still some streaming services with no Kodi add-on (like Kanopy through my local public library). They are available through a browser, so I had 2 SD cards next to the R...

Re: Simple plug and play media player for my grandfather.
KODI / Libreelec is a media centre, not a simple plug-and-play device ... so might be overly complex for your grandfather. If you already have a RasPi, download Libreelec and try it ;-) Also check out the add-ons. If you want ultra simple, have you considered playing movies from a USB stick plugged ...

Re: New to Pi Samba or FStab problems?
How are you going with this Thavato ? I also use NTFS formatted drives with my Ubuntu/Windows dual-boot and RasPi systems, and have found fstab and samba settings to be particularly fiddly. I also come from a Windows background, so guys please excuse that my explanation will probably not be technica...

Re: PoE(Power over Ethernet)
Hello everyone, I'm on a project with raspberry pi 3 B+ but I need 4 or more PoE (Power over Ethernet) in My board but I have just one. Can you please suggest a solution for this issue? Thank you. It';s not entirely clear what you are needing to do. Can you clarify? Yes, we definitely need to know ...

Re: It is possible to connect 3 external hard drives?
I also considered using a RasPi as a low-volume home NAS ... but decided against it because (a) trying to simultaneously access 3 disks, each through USB interfaces would give poor performance; and (b) all the boxes and power supplies would be rather messy physically. Then on Kickstarter I found Hel...

Re: Configuring multiple ip cameras
Not sure what you´re trying to achieve here... Have you already got the IP cameras running, and able to view them from their IP address ? Do the IP cameras have wired and/or wireless interfaces ? Do you have an existing wireless network that you are wanting to connect RasPi and cameras to; or do you...

Re: Adafruit servo HAT - How to move servo?
I recently put together a servo HAT https://www.adafruit.com/products/2327 and I am not quite sure how to move a servo that I have attached to it. ... Do I use the wiringPi i2c library or the wiringPi PWM library, or both? I am confused because the wiringPi PWM library uses a gpio pin but I am usin...

Re: Much larger DSI display wanted
If a 10" DSI touch screen is planned then a resolution of 1280 x 720 would be highly appreciated. +1 for a larger screen option - both physical size and resolution. But consider the price too. IMHO the RPF display's benefit (using DSI connector) doesn't offset its low resolution and high price.

Re: Samba File Transfer: External HDD
Hi Rodman, So I have my RPi 2 that I've been using as a fileshare for all my computers. ... I have 2 hard drives, 2TB, and 120GB, that are attached to the RPi and are mounted in media as /media/2TB/ and /media/120GB. When I map the RPi in Windows, I map the /media folder so that I can access the two...

Re: USB Hub and back power
Like gregor I have read several threads about USB hub and back power ... and pieced together an understanding (which may not be particularly correct). I feel that there is still a need for a definitive and well explained (for us noobs) guide. Can you confirm one point for me ... If the RPi's micro-U...

I suggest you look at http://learn.adafruit.com/using-a-mini- ... spberry-pi in the adafruit tutorials. They also sell displays in 1.5", 2", 2.5" and plenty more sizes.
