Re: DS1307 with Arduino and RPi

Michael What is the power system you are using to power the PI, mains or battery power. If you are using mains power then I can think of simpler ways then having to have two RTC and an Arduino to do what you want. You can put a RTC on the PI and set the PI on start up to read the time from the RTC. ...

Omxplayer on Pidora?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post.

Has anyone got omxplayer working on a Pidora system?
If so, can you please tell how you did it?

I know omxplayer can be compiled but what dependices need to be installed for Pidora?

Thanks

Re: RTC That Just Works

You could try the RasClock MODMYPI is selling. The hardware is ready assembled. Just insert the battery and plug into the Pi. You will have to do some software installing but the instructions are clear. It would probaly take less then 15 minutes all up. Although I have built my own RTC adaptors I am...

Re: Bought the wrong Pi ugh

Sorry for not replying earlier. I had not realised Element14 won't sell to consumers direct. I buy other electronic parts from them.

Re: Bought the wrong Pi ugh

Hi. I am in Auckland and buy my PI's from element 14. You can always order the model you want. I have brought several from them and always get fast service. I ordered one via the web on Wednesday and got it yesterday. The cost is $46 + gst etc. For accessories I have brought off Trademe because they...

Re: Gibberish from keyboard

Hi Mark. Depending on what you set in Raspi-config your Pi will boot into a full graphics window then you will have to open a terminal from the menu. Or your Pi will come up in text mode wanting you to enter the user name (pi) and then the password (raspberry) Once you have a terminal / command line...

Re: Gibberish from keyboard

I am not sure what distro you are using. Under Rasbpian I have edited /etc/default/keyboard and changed XKBLAYOUT="gb" to nz.

This works for me, here in Auckland, NZ.
Although at boot up there is a message about can't find nz symbols.
But this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Hope this helps.

Re: Omcplayer closing early

Hi. Do you mean omxplayer?

Have you brought any codecs for use on your Pi?
They are available from the Raspberry Pi shop.
There are licences for mpeg-2 and vc-1.

If you don't have them this might be your problem.

Re: Power off the phone line

Short answer no.
The current limit is less then 40ma.
You would have to use capacitors to hold the charge and the Pi would drain them to quickly.

Re: RPi Problem

I have had no problem with the power supplies in the raspberry pi kits being sold on Trademe. I buy the Pi from element14. Brent
