For the HDMI to VGA, theres a good chance it wont work.
I remember from previous posts that there isnt an analog signal being send over the HDMI so a passive adapter wouldn't work. you would need an active.

It looks like a guy who wants to earn a few bucks selling some home made power solution.

If you would use 1,25v battery's there wont be a problem, but as you mentioned most battery's are 1,5v so you would need a voltage regulator.

If the use of " is done correctly almost every program can open files with a space in the name it needs a " at start and one " at the end of the file.

mabey you could check if it adds the " and add them manually
