After some Google-ing, it seems that the Linux driver for your dongle's chipset (Realtek RTL8192SU) doesn't properly support master mode (AKA access point mode). You might be able to get it to work by installing a different driver, but without having a similar dongle I can't test and see what works...

sudo service hostapd start returns me this error [....] Starting advanced IEEE 802.11 management: hostapdSegmentation fault failed! any idea/suggestion to make it work? i've followed completely the guide I'd guess either your WiFi dongle's driver is faulty or your SD card is corrupted. grazie per le guide, ma le performance come sono?
lo chiedo a causa dei driver delle porte ethernet/usb che, a quanto so io, sono poco ottimizzati, e quindi non sono particolarmente veloci
