Re: DEMO CODING FOR NOOBS

Great! First off, I'd recommend playing around with GLSL shaders. Something like shadertoy.com (webgl only) or my esfragt project for the Pi will be a great platform. A tutorial that explains the basics of GLSL like this is also good. Or, if you don't like the idea of GLSL with vector types and comp...

Re: Announcement: pishadertoy

NO WAY! :D I've made something exactly like this, because a demoscene club ("Demokerho") I attend uses Shadertoy.com a lot. I didn't want to use the lame modern PCs they provide. It is my very first OpenGL project, so not so HQ, but it has primitive support for 2D textures which is nice. http://luut...

Failed to create debugfs directory

This doesn't seem too bad, and I don't see any effect on my system, but I'm still very curious, why does my Raspbian system say this when booting up: [....] Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...[ 7.042834] bcm2708-i2s bcm2708-i2s.0: Failed to create debugfs directory If someone knows what does t...

Screen freezes when exiting a graphical application

Hello, I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but I didn't find anything helpful with a quick search. Sometimes, rarely, when I exit a programs which uses the Pi's VC in one way or another (like q3a, emulators, even omxplayer), the screen doesn't restore and remains black, or freezes with the ...

Re: developing pi games

Oh, I haven't really even started it yet. I only have some plans, some on paper, most just in my mind. I'm making a text based (turn based) battle game now, but that might, or might not evolve into that game I was talking about. But the game I talked about was more like a distant, huge goal that I'm...

Re: developing pi games

I have a dream of making a game (a RPG, but a little different, the way I want it, full of mysteries and philosophy, and awesome music with catchy/unique melodies) with "3D" graphics similar to... maybe the FF series, but more like Fez, Minecraft, or... Well, I've got a clear image of that in my min...

Re: Cavestory (NXEngine) fixed for Raspberry Pi

Yup. Same here. Screen is small, and flickering the background (of the game, like a cave wall) trough. This problem started when I had to make a new SD card. I have the latest Raspbian, and the latest firmware. I hope something can be done. Also this version is still a bit unstable. It can crash on ...

Re: RPi not booting after Update

Yup, same problem here.
Pretty much exactly the same problem.
(I also had a script too :D)

What do?

Will I copy the boot partition from a fresh image to my card?

Or just backup what I can from the card and start a new one from a fresh download?

My script has "sync" at the end.

Oh!
I'll try that right away when I get home.

I just used "gcc" because the instructions said so.

Re: Idiot's guide to C++/SDL Setup

I really want to see that you CAN compile your own SDL programs on the Pi (I've never really done any SDL), but I get: pi@luuti-raspberrypi ~/programs/testsdl $ make gcc `sdl-config --cflags` `sdl-config --libs` -O2 -o sdltest main.cpp /tmp/ccuFVBNJ.o: In function `main': main.cpp:(.text.startup+0x9...

Power components overheating, Pi crashing

I got my Pi a few weeks ago, and I was very happy to get using it right away with my mobile charger, ofc a little of Ethernet&USB problems with only a 700mA power. Then I finally got my Pi accessories from another webshop. It had a power supply, Goobay regulated "Rotary Switch" 1.5A. I have followed...

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

Updated whitey, and yt-downloader (or whatever it was) Does whitey0.2 need any tweaking in the source? I don't think it does. But still, doesn't work. I did remove the ", '-ohdmi'" from _init_.py, but can that do any bad? I get: OSError: [Errno 8] Exec format error I thing you go to run the python ...

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

I'm having exactly the same problem. Everything seems to work fine, but the video just won't start (after the green box has showed up), and it goes back to the yt menu like nothing happened. omxplayer seems to work flawlessly with anything else. I think this might be because of the small space in my...
