Re: Networking Project Ideas

I'm still trying to find out the best (or the most current) way of doing mesh networking so I can just throw a bunch of Pis and it'll all act as an access point to a single internet source... but documentations online have been spotty or old :(

Re: Starting EmulationStation 1st Time

I have no idea, but I'd just simply use a berryboot image and be done with it.

I'd use a better distro for filesharing, like openmediavault instead of stock standard raspbian.

Re: Release: Ubeify Desktop Media Player For Raspberry Pi

A lot more people would give it a try if you can make a squashfs-ready image aka berryboot image available. At least I'd try it out. Just not willing to wait for a backup to a 64GB sdcard, and flash this, and then reflash my original image that has a ton of other OSes preconfigured for my use.

Re: Looking for advice on setting up NAS/Backup/Archive syst

If you ask me, for RPi + NAS use, best ones are OpenMediaVault - pretty straightforward, ease of configuration, plugins to further extend the NAS NAS4Free - hardcore enterprise-grade NAS I myself uses NAS4Free, but that's on a 12 year old xeon server. has been rock solid without any downtime whatsoe...

Using many 3.8v Li-po phone batteries to power my RPi

Okay so while doing some cleaning I stumble across a box full of unused, fresh mobile phone batteries (I think > 50 units). Here's what it says on the battery: For phone: Xiaomi Redmi 1S Model: BM41 3.8 Volt Li-Polymer battery Charging voltage limit: 4.35v Capacity: 2000mAh 7.6W Standards: GB/T 1828...

Re: RPi 1 boot straight into VNC client

RealVNC offer both server and client: https://www.realvnc.com/docs/raspberry-pi.html Okay that's cool, but I'm looking for more like BerryTerminal ( http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/start ), and from what I can read it's LTSP-only and LTSP is a completely different thing than VNC. Basically so...

RPi 1 boot straight into VNC client

Goodday, I'm trying to find out if there is a way for me to boot straight into a vnc viewer - using RPi as a thin computer via VNC into my nas4free-based virtualbox server. Are there such a thing? Google search keep returning results that boot straight into a VNC Server, not a client. In a nutshell,...

jMonkeyEngine3 on Raspberry Pi help

Guys, Searching this forum on jME3 has led me to believe that some has successfully ported (I think) jME3 into RPi. But instructions are unclear to me. Where can I get the .jar? I managed to get lwjgl.so via the Minecraft 1.8.9 thread, so all that's left for me to run 3089 the game was jME3. Help? p...

Re: Minecraft 1.9 on rpi with launcher

A semi-related question: I don't suppose Minecraft 1.8.9/1.9 can be run from CLI, somehow?

Reason I asked is that it'd be really cool if I can somehow intergrate this into RetroPie/Recallbox, etc.

It works! A bit sluggish though. Gonna try running it on RPi3 tomorrow. OptiFine's version doesn't work for me. Only thing that's different is I used the current-version ASM 5.1 and not asm 5.0.3 as well as OptiFine_1.8.9_HD_U_H5 as I can't find OptiFine_1.8.9_HD_U_H3. [email protected]:~/Minecraft $ ....

See thing is, I use berryboot + raspbian. Is there a way to get dietpi in a form of a script?

Or something like a berryboot squashfs image of dietpi?

Nevertheless keep up the good work and hopefully I can try it out soon! ;)

Good day,

If I have installed a bunch of OSes in NOOBS, and then I want to install others, is there any other way besides going to recovery and reinstalling all that I want ( + the new one) again?
