I faced the same 'Error formatting settings partition' problem (on a RbPi3B) when I used some 'no name' cards... Then I used a genuine SanDisk and the install was OK . I can vouch for this! my more math inclined friends say he square approximation comes out as 4096 ... and the more accurate result is 4823 +/- 1 or so

Just ran the full calculation, I get > 0.5 probability of a collision at 4822. or 4823 as counting from 0 ... ;)

then the chances of having 2 pi's with the the same IP when that >50% is ... well I leave that to someone who knows what they are calculating ;)

Hopefully the box will maintain a seal comparable to ip68 ;) its a good quality sandwich box borrowed from the kitchen new and unused. the current lid breach for external power sockets (not ip68) is fully sealed with silicone behind the back plate of the socket box,... it wont - as the box heat...
