get a usb sdhc card reader
that notebook has a 2 in 1 card-reader (SD/MMC) this is not sdhc compatible

I would say that when you get a brownout the 5V stepdown drops too low and the PI reboots
I would also power the PI via the micro usb as that way you get a bit of protection
and stuff a large capacitor on the 5V line to
a) smooth it and
b) provide a stable 5V for when you get momentary brownouts.

tupperware is not good enough as it will expand during the day and at night will suck in moister laden air which will condense out in the box during the next day
holes can be good in this case

this usually occurs with bad circuit design and either shorting or pulling more mA from the GPIO or 5V on the GPIO

this is wrong on so many levels
1) you odn't need sudo in rc.lcoal
2) don't use rc.local
3) use a systemd.service file if this is not x based
4) use the lxde autostart features if this is a x based thingy

how do you start it normally when it works fine
