udev will kill a script if it takes too long - so something that copies from/to the stick will fail use the systemd service method

the foundation is a charity
pi trading which is the design end is a for profit company which provides the foundation with money IIRC

if you remove thye revenue stream then the charity cannot function as well as it does

to run the previous command as sudo do sudo !! mostly you should not be using sudo if you have to do a few things then sudo bash -l if using putty and you find that up / down arrow do not give you the previous command then you may be logging into sh instead of bash or you have a badly configured put...

The USB key or the hard drive? No to both. When I plug in the USB key though I get a popup asking what to do with it. I tried the hard drive from my PC with it over the weekend and nothing also. so when you plug it into your PC you get nothing from it , sounds like it's no longer working , nothing ...

make it as close to $0 as possible , then use coding to make things better, more RAM is good , more speed is good , faster comms is better , but not needed for 99% of use in fact if you where to replace the USB2 module on the SOC with a USB3 module then a lot of the perceived problems would go away ...
