Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

Hello everyone, I've gone through a lot of pain and suffering when it comes to sound and alsa in the different emulators, trying lots of different configurations and finally found a fix which fixed most of my problems and wanted to share it with you because frankly, noone should have to go through ...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

I posted in the dgen issue page on GitHub, but no response so trying here. ;) I am having a black screen issue with DGen, it just does nothing... can't exit, no errors, etc. I tried editing the setup script to pull the latest version of Dgen (1.31) but it seems to still have the same issue. Any ide...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

First of all, thank you for doing this! I have played around with this for a couple of weeks now, and everything has been running smoothly until now. Last time I was setting this up (using 2012-10-28-wheezy-raspbian) I had no problem getting sound to work using alsa. I had a couple of lines with Re...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Has anyone tried using this installer on XBian? I'm assuming you'd need to compile the source vs. using binaries? I'm getting a Pi for Christmas so I've been collecting info on the setup I want to build, headless XBMC + Retro emulators and a lot of people have recommended XBian over Raspbian for sp...

Re: Anyone successfully using two wireless Xbox 360 controll

Ive not got 2 working but do you have any instructions / links for getting 1 working? What are you using them for? If you're on Raspbian: sudo apt-get install xboxdrv Then if connecting a wireless controller, open up a separate terminal (ctrl+alt+f2) and enter: sudo xboxdrv To run another wireless ...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Nice, that will work great. Also works if you put it in the /etc/profile file as well! Thanks! Just to respond to myself here... this works, but Xbian launches before .profile or .login kicks in, so I had to add the line to start Xboxdrv into /etc/init.d/xbmc in the for loop for starting the daemon...

Anyone successfully using two wireless Xbox 360 controllers?

Hey all. I'm having an issue when trying to use two wireless Xbox 360 Controllers using xboxdrv. I've initialized xboxdrv twice with different wireless IDs and they both connect. However, when I'm running two instances of xboxdrv some button presses are missed. Naturally, it seems like a power issue...

Re: Terminal visible outside XBMC video letterbox

I had the same issue when I was running a compiled version of XBMC on top of my Raspbian version. I started using Xbian instead and I did not have the same issue. RaspbMC probably fixes it as well but I haven't used that.

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Has anyone here got xboxdrv working with a wireless Xbox 360 Controller on an Xbian install? I've spent over 6 hours googling and reading every thread known to man and I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I'm desperate here for any guidance. Where I'm at: With a start command for xboxdrv in ...

Re: Terminal shown when playing video in XBMC

That works pretty well... except the cursor is still there blinking! I saw this solution, I'd hate to resort to this though: http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/3268/how-to-disable-local-terminal-showing-through-when-playing-video I could always have a script to execute that on start-up a...

Terminal shown when playing video in XBMC

I tried searching and could not find a solution online: Right now I have my Pi running composite video (4:3) with XBMC. When playing a video that is not "zoomed" in, the terminal window is showing in the background behind the video. Is there a way to hide the terminal by either displaying a black ba...

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

Alright, in case anyone needs it, here is what I got for PS3 Six-axis mapping for es_input.cfg. I can't get the page up, page down, or select menu to work at all with my controller though. I can not guarantee this is the same for all PS3 controllers, but I used the official one: JOYNAME Sony PLAYSTA...

Thanks, I will see if I can put together a correct button mapping for my controller. If I do I'll post my config here.

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

It has come up, but it only asks for one button... I forgot which. Then it dumps me back to the emulator list. Is there a reference for me to add it manually? I looked at the file before, but I couldn't make sense of it.

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

Thanks that worked great!

I have another issue now... I'm having trouble configuring my controls on EmulationStation using a PS3 controller. I configured it just fine through RetroArch, is there a way for me to convert those numbers over to ES?

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

So far I love ES! I will likely be attempt to make some themes once I iron out other issues... which brings me to a question. I have no plans to use the Doom emulator... ever. Is there a way for me to switch the first emulator to something like "NES"? I'm guessing this is hard-coded in ES but I'd lo...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

Pulseaudio wasn't actually installed. Probably removed by retropie. This is a dedicated emulator too, so only latest raspbian + retropie setup. I am configuring RetroArch globally (so using the /etc/retroarch.cfg) EDIT: seems that apt-get autoremove deleted some pulseaudio thingies. Now I am seeing...
