Re: Developing for Pi in Visual Studio

The process can't be really simpler :/ To facilitate the process I only can do a step by step guide using screenshots, but I dont have time for that :/ Seriously, it can't take you a month setup the steps I put in my post :) Just go slow, step by step and being sure what you are doing at each point....

Re: Recommeded C++ dev environment ?

From my personal point of view (learnt in past projects), the most productive way to develop for RPi is Visual Studio + plink (ssh commands) + makefiles. This will make coding very agine and fast although debugging must be done on RPi direct using gdb (or similar), or a propietary plugin for VStudio...

Re: Ugly green horizontal lines

Perhaps it's caused by an insufficient power supply (something similar happened to me). Try with a more powerful PSU

Re: load .png texture in hello_triangle example problem

Freeimage, use Freeimage: http://freeimage.sourceforge.net/
With that, you can load a png (or any other format) in less than 5 lines of code.

Use an image loading library, like freeimage for example.

Re: Developing for Pi in Visual Studio

My setup is the next: a) First I setup a external drive to hold the project files, and plug it into the windows machine. (dont program directly on the raspi SD. Re: Odd problem with alpha in the frame buffer

Moreover, if you are porting something, fix this at dispmanx layer is the best option, so you dont have to touch your rendering source code.

BTW, I'd reciently had this same problem and found the solution here :)

is -ISO flag actually working?

Hello, I made some videos with raspivid changing the -ISO value (I suppose that the range is the same than DLSR cameras). I tried with 100, 200, 500, 1000, 3200 and 500000 (I now, this last value is silly) but all videos had exactly the same appearance. That's the only flag I changed trying to adjus...

Re: Frame as OpenGL texture

If I would know how to get unprocessed data (raw, yuv or whatever) in a fast way, I could do the OpenGL part, but I hadn't studied yet the current data pipeline (because those days I dont have much free time :/ ) provided within raspistill/raspivid. I think taking that as base, the rest should be ea...

Frame as OpenGL texture

Hello, Sorry if this question has been answered before (I didn't find something similar) I would want to know if there are a possibility of getting the frame as an OpenGL texture. I know I can take the frames produced by raspistill or raspivid and create an OpenGL texture based on that data, but tha...

Re: apt-get install xbmc does not work

It worked thanks :)
Xbmc hangs my raspi on exit (or takes so much time with a black screen, I only waited for 3 minutes) but it doest matter because I can use xbmc casually :)
Thank you

apt-get install xbmc does not work

Hello, I want have XBMC in my raspbian (casual use), but I dont want install raspbmc. I tried apt-get it in a fresh raspbian installation (2013-05-25) but some packages' dependecies are broken. Is this failure in the dependences and in the raspbian repository that would be fixed in a near future, or...

Re: The User Interface Failed To Load

Just updated my raspbian distro few minutes ago (pistore was also updated) and now all works correctly. UI shows up and I'm testing the installation of a free app (a text based adventure)

Good gork guys :)

PD: had my SD image helped in the process?

Re: The User Interface Failed To Load

Just in case this info could be useful:
My router has an static IP from my ISP, and I have configured my rasp with an static IP (manually, interfaces file) into a "non standard" segment: 10.22.0.0. No proxies in my LAN/WAN.

I have full internet and LAN access with any application.

Re: Bug reports

Hello, I've just updated my raspbian today and got a new pistore version, but my problem persist. When I start pistore, I get the message: "The user interface failed to load. Please check your network connection or try upgrading the client" I already tried with a clean install, like the one suggeste...
