[tutorial] Make an always on, headless BitTorrent client

This is a very condensed copy of the guide that I originally wrote here Turn a Raspberry Pi into an always on, BitTorrent client with Snappy Ubuntu Core . This tutorial uses a Snappy Ubuntu Core installation that can be created by following the The Getting started with a Raspberry Pi 2 guide on deve...

Re: Cannot Execute wget

Hi Jeff I wrote the MAME guide in question. I am not sure how that error has occurred in your case. But often 'cannot execute binary' means you are trying to run an program designed for a different architecture such as running an Intel x86 compiled application on an Raspberry Pi Arm processor. Can I...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.06 released

I've just finished a rather extensive newbie guide for DOS and this impressive rpix86 emulator. It's a rather long post so I will just paste the link. I've also written a mini-history of DOS if that is of interest. History and tutorial: http://ipggi.wordpress.com/2013/04/23/run-dos-on-the-raspberry-...

Re: Cheat Sheet - USB drives

That’s a very good point klricks and is something some people may forget. Linux permissions and ownerships propagate on EXT drives.

Cheat Sheet - USB drives

The following is a cheat sheet of some of the more common commands for using a USB drive with a Pi. I've written an extensive tutorial on using USB drives on a Pi shell at http://ipggi.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/using-usb-external-hard-disk-flash-drives-with-to-your-raspberry-pi/ . It covers power sup...

Re: Connect to a VPN Server

There are 2 clients that I know of that work in Raspbian, sudo apt-get install pptp-linux and sudo apt-get install openvpn . I wrote a tutorial on using PPTP client for Raspian shell at http://ipggi.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/using-a-point-to-point-tunnelling-protocol-virtual-private-network-pptp-vpn-...

Re: Using a VPN on the RPI

I just posted a blog about tunnelling all your Pi traffic through a PPTP VPN connection. It's not too complicated but took for ever to compile the info.

Create a dedicated arcade game device with MAME & a Pi.

http://ipggi.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/mame-arcade-game-fun-with-a-raspberry-pi/ There are a lot of good help guides on this forum and elsewhere on the internet for getting MAME the arcade emulator running on a Pi but none that specifically suited my needs. I wanted one that covered the complete pro...

Re: Autostart "advmenu"

Joey I just wrote a big walk-through guide on running AdvanceMame that might be of use for you at http://ipggi.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/mame-arcade-game-fun-with-a-raspberry-pi/ . When writing the article I encountered similar issues as your problems here. Firstly in inittab instead of using the /bi...
