OsmOse – a Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator, now ported

Hey guys, The past couple of days I've been working on this port of OsmOse , an object-oriented Sega Master System and Game Gear emulator by Vedder Bruno. It is based on version 0.8.1, the last version by the author to use SDL, but I did a bunch of backports, fixes and changes to make it compile and...

I do think 1.53 is doable, but it would take a lot of effort. A job for a skilled assembly programmer, to be sure.

Re: snes9x-1.39-rpi -- full speed SNES emulation with sound

Cool, had a quick go works really well. I'm guessing it's not possible to save yet? Saving does work, if you mean save RAM! Savestates should also work, try keyboard number keys 0-9 to load. Hold shift and an number key to save. Good Job! Thanks for posting! I too have been experimenting with getti...

Re: snes9x-1.39-rpi -- full speed SNES emulation with sound

Snes9x 1.39 has horrible sound. Even music is out of tempo in many games... Why not port a more recent version instead? Well, as is written in the readme, I did do just that, and snes9x-1.53 reaches 12 fps at best, with stuttering sound. I have that too, if you're interested in trying it. I did som...

Re: snes9x-1.39-rpi -- full speed SNES emulation with sound

Yes, depending on the game, it will not sustain 60 fps so I should probably not have written "full speed", but to me it certainly feels close enough while playing. Super Mario World sticks to 60 pretty much all the time. With further optimization it should be possible to squeeze out better performan...

snes9x-1.39-rpi -- full speed SNES emulation with sound

Hi all, I have ported an old SDL version of snes9x to the Raspberry Pi. The PocketSNES core from libretro refused to work well on my machine and snes9x-1.53 is too slow, so I did this thing. It may be of use to some of you! Get it here! Here's a YouTube video of this build in action (with some prett...

Re: How good is NES emulation at the moment? Frontend?

Someone ported gpFCE to a WM8650 netbook and the binary works on the Raspberry using alsa-oss for sound (which needs to be installed). The emulation itself is very good and fullspeed. There is one big problem. When you have sound using the command aoss ./fceu to start, you can start up a game and p...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

Hey all, Is there a way to absolutely force RetroArch to use a particular screen resolution and no scaling, for every core? No matter what I try to set in retroarch.cfg, the Gambatte core, for instance, always attempts to set 480 x 432 which results in nothing but a black screen on my screen (compos...
