Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

OK, I've added it to the startup script. To use the new command, update the script: sudo wget http://www.gerrelt.nl/RaspberryPi/squeezelitehf.sh sudo mv squeezelitehf.sh /etc/init.d/squeezelite sudo chmod a+x /etc/init.d/squeezelite You might need a new version of the squeezelite_settings.sh script....

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi LordM, Sorry for the late reply, but I forgot to check this thread every now and then. It is possible to clear the playlist with a command, for example: printf "PlayerName playlist clear\nexit\n" | nc 192.168.0.1 9090 Replace PlayerName with the name of your squeezelite player, and replace the IP...

Re: SSH connection refused

+2

Thanks kanekin!

For the people using Jessie Lite and Windows for creating the SD card: You can just add a (empty text) file name "ssh" onto the root of the SD card. Then SSH will be enabled on boot.

Re: Python IDE

The NppFTP plugin in Notepad++ uses ftp to edit the files directly on the Raspberry. So you make your changes on windows, in Notepad++, and when you press "save", the changes are done on the Raspberry through ftp. Then you can use Putty to login to the Raspberry using ssh (telnet), and run your code.

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi mrMennens,

I've got zero experience with bluetooth speakers and the Raspberry.
But some more info might be useful to others. What kind of bluetooth speaker are you using, and which bluetooth module (USB?) are you using?

Greetings,
Gerrelt.

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hmm...strange, I think your command to start squeezelite should have worked.

Maybe try it as default soundcard, like this:

Code: Select all

sudo /usr/bin/squeezelite-armv6hf -o default:CARD=Device -s 192.168.2.4

Hi kpuk, The allthingspi tutorial is outdated, and doesn't work anymore. For installing LMS on Raspbian Jessie, see chapter "Installing LMS (squeezebox) server" and "Setup the LMS server", in my "standalone" tutorial: http://www.gerrelt.nl/RaspberryPi/wordpress/tutorial-stand-alone-squeezebox-server...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

Just a small remark on the RPI squeezelite tutorial website you made (which is great by the way). Spotify has been running on my RPI and feeding 3 RPI Squeezelite players for several months without any issues and remote controlling using Ipeng IOS app. However, you need to be mindful of (1) changin...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

I think the "-a 80" setting is false. It looks like my settings file is based on older version of the squeezelite options list. This is the latest help file for squeezelite: Squeezelite v1.8-658, Copyright 2012-2015 Adrian Smith. See -t for license terms Usage: /usr/bin/squeezelite-armv6hf [options]...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi James, I think this is your problem: The user under which the process is started is different in the two cases. Your manual startup is started with user "pi", the automatic startup is started under user "root" ( I think). The .asoundrc file is only used with user "pi". If you want to make it usab...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi James, I'm looking to set up a Pi2 music player. Does Squeezelite run on the Raspberry Pi 2? Yes, it runs on a Raspberry Pi 2. In fact one of my Pi's is a Pi 2, and I am using it as a squeezelite player. Also, does Squeezelite read the music files directly from the Pi's storage or do I need to in...

Make button light up when pressed

Hi! I want to use these buttons for a project: http://images.gerrelt.nl/RaspberryPi/5-ShowerBerry/Momentary_Button_with_built_in_LED.jpg I've written a piece of python code to react to the button being pressed, and It then executes a script (plays the next favorite of the LMS serer, for those who ar...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi Nakamura13, Try one of these three options. 1. change the "after" setting of the systemd config script. Open the script: sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/squeezelite.service And change "After=network.target" to this: After=graphical.target Then save and exit, and reload the daemons: sudo systemctl d...

Re: [Tutorial] Stand alone Squeezebox server and player for

I've updated the tutorial to Raspbian Jessie Lite. The part that describes installing the LMS server is changed, it now uses 7.9.0 nightly build. And a CPAN (Perl) fix is added. Also I've described how to setup the WiFi acccess point on Jessie. See: TUTORIAL: Stand alone Squeezebox server and player...

Well, sleep tight! :) This is something to think about in the morning then: I find it strange that your output does not contain a "-o <soundcard>" in the startup command line. Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Try this, open the squeezelite_settings.sh file, and search for this line:

Code: Select all

#SL_MAC_ADDRESS="00:00:00:00:00:01"
And change it to:

Code: Select all

SL_MAC_ADDRESS="b8:27:eb:45:c9:75"
So, uncomment it, and set your mac-address.

Save, and reboot.

Gerrelt.

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

There seems to be a left-over .pid file, maybe from your previous tests.

Just remove it:

Code: Select all

sudo rm /var/run/squeezelite-armv6hf.pid
And try again. I think you are on the right path with the "running damon as pi" setting.

Gerrelt.
