Re: Safe to use 1/4" 4-40 metal standoffs?
I'm building a case for my model B (rev 2), and I want to use 4-40 metal standoffs at the two mounting holes. These are usually 1/4" diameter hex on the outside, and I'm wondering if that's too big. Meaning, will the metal make contact with any wiring on the board? Here's an example: http://ww...

Main problem I've found using the PI and the Humax as a DNLA source is lack of fast forward for those pesky adverts. Anyone any ideas?

Bonjour , Depuis hier j'essaye de configurer ma clef wifi ( TP-Link TL-WN725N Nano ) sur XBMC pourtant recommander comme étant compatible avec le raspberry pi. Re: no sound on a Model B with XBMC
Hi all-- Please forgive me if this isn't the correct forum for this question (kindly redirect, and thanks), or if it's a common question. I have a Model B that I'm currently trying to use for playing media files. I've installed both RaspBMC and OpenELEC from the most recent NOOBS 1.3.4-- both seem ...

Re: Very Frustrated
since it is a learning device one is expected to read the manuals and instructions. if using XBMC on Pi, then XMBCwiki is really a must read. it is filled with Rpi specific articles and setings. having said that i had continuous crashes and reboots using raspbmc. I then decided to try OpenELEC. i h...

Re: NetFlix Hulu and other external media sources
I didn't see any of them in open Elec - which is why I asked about them. I assume (although I'm sure someone will chirp in to tell me why this is a bad assumption) that open Elec is basically a stripped down version of XBMC. Hence, not too surprising that it is missing some of the plugins. you need...

Re: Very Frustrated
I believe that not all XBMC add ons will work on a Raspi - to be honest, I don't use add ons at all when using OpenELEC (a XBMC distro). But I don;t know which will or won't work. If things are crashing halfway through, it does sound like a power supply issue. Can you post the specs of it here (mak...

Re: Poss 2Play & Record Live TV? Wi-Fi Ability & Play TV Cat
Hi Phil, Thank you for replying, much appreciated. Firstly I've just read this evening that XBMC has now split effectively in to two communities, so you have to install both XBMC, then both 'fusion' and 'xunity'. So if I read up on both of these to see what their package offers, then I'd find out w...

New to the R-Pi world and using composite video. Composite video was working while loading Raspian Wheezy OS. Received message that installation was complete and hit ENTER to proceed. Re: NOOBS unzipping
Bought my children Carrie Anne Philbin's book for Christmas. I thought we should do as she suggests and use NOOBS on our SD card. We had previously successfully formatted, download, unzipped and transferred Rapsbian to the SD card. We went to downloads and selected 'image' in offline and network se...

Hmm ... as the OP says he isn't using hdmi, but is using the RCA jack for video output. When you use the analog video on the Raspberry Pi the composite signal will always be 720x480 @ 60Hz for NTSC and 720x576 @ 50Hz for PAL. yes bit some tvs need settigs manually changing they have a plethora of d...
