Re: Where to buy RPi 2 living in USA?

I've purchased several Raspberry Pi (including the latest RPI2) and cases from www.newark.com. Never had a problem.

Re: [newbie]: Minecraft - where to start?

I guess no one else has used it. I ended up playing with the regular Python Minecraft API instead which works fine :) Would still be cool to get the scratch interface working though.

Re: [newbie]: Minecraft - where to start?

The idea of using Scratch with Minecraft aroused my curiosity so I thought I'd have a play with it. The problem is, I can't seem to get scratch2minecraft working, at least in the sense that I can see the 'broadcasts' in the Terminal Window, but nothing ever appears in Minecraft itself. I feel that I...

Re: Resizing Openelec 'Storage' partition

What I do, since I have a Windows Machine, is run a copy of Ubuntu Linux in VirtualBox. I then mount my Card Reader inside VirtualBox and run gparted to resize the partitions on the SD Card. The versions of gparted I found for Windows seemed to only be usable via booting a CD or USB which is a bit i...

Impressed with OpenElec on Raspberry Pi

I have 3 Raspberry Pi's, one of which is a Model A. I didn't get around to setting up a media center at first, until I found out the TV could control the device using HDMI CEC. I then realized it would allow me to create a very minimalist media device and so I installed OpenELEC. All I needed was to...

Re: 512MB Raspberry Pi with EDIMAX EW-7811un and MK320 Combo

Out of interest I recently received a Model A. I wondered if having the direct single USB without the on board HUB would make any difference and it seems it doesn't. I haven't tried the dwc_otg.speed=1 fix yet although I see no reason for it not to work. I constantly keep my Pis updated so I can onl...

Has anyone managed to get a Juniper Networks VPN client running on the Raspberry Pi? I was playing with remote desktop and it seems to work great but I also need to connect using a Juniper VPN.

Re: Edimax

Did you do any updating or installing/configuring etc? I find with Linux, that sometimes this kind of thing happens, in that what was working before suddenly stops working. This is now happening with my bluetooth adapter. It was working fine, now it doesn't show up in my bluetooth manager yet if I r...

Re: Frozen Bubble

When you say that other program works; do you actually mean that they produce sound, or that they just execute? I guess my sentence wasn't worded in the best way but I meant that other programs I tested produce sound fine ie omxplayer and xsidplay. It seems that Frozen Bubble no longer produces any...

Re: Keyboard repeating keystrokes with PI

I can confirm what efflandt is saying. The dwc_otg.speed=1 fix solved my problem with my Logitech MK320 although in my case I think it was made worse because I was also using an EDIMAX Wireless USB adapter. It doesn't seem to have affected the internet although the green light now flashes next to my...

Frozen Bubble

I recently I re-imaged and rebuilt my SD card. One of the programs I re-installed was Frozen Bubble. I now notice it no longer has any sound. Have they recently updated this? Anyone else also have no sound on this game? I am using HDMI sound and other programs work fine, at least the ones I tried.

Re: Suddenly unable to boot Linux yet boots RISC OS fine

It seems my Sandisk Ultra 8GB died. I guess it was in the process of dying when the Raspberry wouldn't boot from it, as soon it was only recognized by an external card reader and not my PC card reader or a Digital Camera. Perhaps my 256MB Raspberry Pi was just able to read the card at the time and t...

Re: Suddenly unable to boot Linux yet boots RISC OS fine

I used the sd formatter which I would think would solve that problem. I even did the longer overwrite option. I can write the image fine. I even tried some of the various 'fixes' I have found by searching around such as replacing various boot files, but none get so much as a glimmer from the Green L...

Re: Suddenly unable to boot Linux yet boots RISC OS fine

Ok I successfully booted with a generic Sandisk 4GB and another Kingston 8GB I had in a Camcorder. So I guess my fears were unfounded. I just have to find out why I am suddenly unable to use my original cards with the same images even though they worked perfectly up until now. I always used the SD C...

Re: Suddenly unable to boot Linux yet boots RISC OS fine

Update. I decided to burn the latest 2012-12-16-wheezy-raspbian image to the Sandisk Ultra 8GB SD Card and a 2GB Kingston card I had. Doesn't boot with the Sandisk, but now successfully boots into Linux with the 2GB card. Seeing as the RISC OS SD card was also 2GB, I am hoping this doesn't suddenly ...

Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden I cannot boot any Linux OS image yet it will boot and run my RISC OS SD Card without any problems? Re: Bluetooth with Broadcom chip a no go?

I thought I would post an update.:) I had seen the IOGear GBU321 listed on the Verified Peripherals as working. I don't know how long it had been there, but I thought seeing as the GBU421 is basically a 'refreshed' version of the GBU321 with a similar chipset, I would give mine another go and sure e...

Yep. I had known of this fix for a while, but I can't remember why I didn't try it before. I think I had thought I read that it was only for situations where you had a mix of 1.1 and 2.0 USB devices and that it would also impact the SD card speed etc. Also when I was searching the forums I don't thi...

Re: 512MB Raspberry Pi with EDIMAX EW-7811un and MK320 Combo

I thought I would post an update here. In desperation I tried the dwc_otg.speed=1 setting in my /boot/cmdline.txt file to reduce my USB speed back down to the older 1.1 standard. So far for the last two days it appears to have fixed the problem! I also tried removing the setting and within a very sh...
