Re: Raspberry Pi Power Consumption

Thanks for your reply! I have tested with and without the extra boards of course... Ahout the energy meter...it shows the standby power of a TV or other device at pretty much the correct level, and that's about 0.1 to 0.3W, so I would assume it can tell the difference between 2W and 4W. I think I ne...

Raspberry Pi Power Consumption

Hi everybody, There is a thing that's been puzzling me for a while... I keep on reading about the RPI power consumption, but it's usually measured directly on the board with a multimeter. I'm more interested in finding out how much power my Pis are drawing from the wall socket though, because that's...

Re: Simple headless online streams player ?

Glad to hear that it works.
The nest remote apps are "Squeeze control" and Squeeze Commander (sadly not being worked on anymore).

The Plugin needs some changes to the commands I think, Squeezeplug runs as root, so permissions are not a problem.

Enjoy your new radio!

Re: Simple headless online streams player ?

Truehl is the dev of squeezeplug., so that's what I meant. Your error is weird. Never seen that before. It seems like something you could ask in the Squeezeplug thread. Have you tried a different remote app like squeezer? And can't you find the server at all, or just Squeezelite? Might be an issue w...

Re: Simple headless online streams player ?

@Conrad007 That's weird...if you installed the Squeezeplug 7 image and then used the setup provided by truehl, then you should have LMS and the player autostarting right out of the box. I've never seen it not autostart. How do you power down the Pi? Are you just pulling the power? That might cause i...

Re: Simple headless online streams player ?

@conrad007 If you are mainly after webradio, I can recommend Squeezeplug 7. It runs a Logitech Media Server and you can use the wonderful Squeezelite player on it. If you want to go multi-room, then adding more Pis with the micro-linux setup "PiCorePlayer" makes this a perfect set. Since the audio q...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

It boots on Odroid X2, but the ethernet does not start. I guess there is a difference there...

Edit: it is strange, the ethernet is displayed in ifconfig and also in the GUI, but it does not work. Maybe some driver is missing.

will your image work on the Odroid X2 as well? Maybe I'll just give it a try... ;)

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks for the new version! Btw...could you perhaps work with Steen and help him build an update script into PiCorePlayer? I have several around the house, and updating them by hand and then redoing all the settings is a pretty annoying hassle. An update mechanism like on Squeezeplug would be really...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks for your hard work! The HifiBerry cards are great, I can only recommend them! Soldering is not that easy, but it's manageable. I'm looking forward to using the HifiBerry Digi when I can get my hands on one. The normal HifiBerry works fine with Squeezeplug. Using the Odroid as a Server might b...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks for the Update. I've been having strange issues with my Squeezeplug Pi over the last 7-10 Days. While it used to run fine and never crashed or hung, it now dies about once a day. I already set it up again from scratch, but that did not help. The Pi appears to be running fine, all the lights a...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Something new for a change... ;)

I've got one Squeezeplug Pi running on WiFi, and the problem is, that once it loses connection (which can happen...) then it won't automatically reconnect. Is there a way to fix this?

It's an Edimax Nano Wifi stick.

Thanks.

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Actually they looked correct, I just pasted them in from where I had found them via Google.
Also, I set up another Squeezeplug Pi yesterday and the DAC worked right away, so it must have been something on my first installation.

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Hmmm...I just equipped my Squeezeplug Pi with a Hifiberry DAC, sadly it does not seem to work. aplay -l and squeezelite -l both don't list the DAC. It works out of the box with PiCorePlayer, something here must be different. UPDATE: I fixed it by manually re-adding the entries in the modules file. M...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

@matteegee I think you won't regret it. HiFiBerry is really great. @Trixster Then I'm out of ideas. Maybe it's something about the recent Squeezelite builds? I don't think it is Squeezeplug related...and you said you tried PiCorePlayer as well, right? Maybe give Volumio a go, just to be sure. It can...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Weird...the USB sound issues were supposed to be fixed a long time ago. Usually the -a options fixed the occasional popping noises... Highest I ever had to use was -a 160:4 Can you perhaps try switching to wireless instead of LAN? Or try a cheap USB sound stick? I'm running Squeezeplug 7.02 with a c...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Hmmm...tweaming the alsa buffer settings can help, apart from that I don't know.
If you work with the -a setting, make sure to use the
-o sysdefault:CARD***
Options, because the buffers apparently get ignored if you use front or hw as output....at least I read about that.

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

I'm very happy with Squeezeplug 7 and just finally made a small donation. There is something I've been wondering about...would it be possible to control a LMS Pi with an IRDA remote? There is the FLIRC Usb stick out now, but it's geared more towards XBMC...but xould this theoretically be done? I'm o...

It's no big deal, maybe only some LMS nightlies are affected. Someboday also reportet this on the squeezebox forums. It's not a squeezeplug issue. Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Since there appear to be issues with LMS getting sluggish after a day or two (probably some problem in the curent nightlies) I'd like to auto-reboot my squeezeplug pi every day at a certain time. Is there an easy way to do this on Squeezeplug 7? I've heard about cronjobs but never dealt with them be...
