Re: The Great Mojave Desert Rover

Sounds cool. Having done a few robots myself I would like to point out two things: - The motor in your picture "looks" (I don't have it specs) a bit undersized for a 40x25cm robot. Note that it is hard to change the engines later because it influences other parameters like space and battery lifetime...

Amazon.de marketplace, but maybe it helps you anyway. In general look for devices recommended for ambilight.

You could try GStreamer with gst-rtsp-server. You can use the multifilesrc element with the loop option.

Get a RGBD-Camera like Asus Xtion that is able to give you a distance for every pixel in your image.

Can you try your pipeline with gst-launch and if it does not work, paste it here?
Also, have you installed the -bad and eglgles packages?

Re: Issue with Gstreamer pipeline

Well the documentation for multifilesrc mentions to add the framerate in the caps, which sounds like a real logic thing to do, so lets try this: gst-launch-1.0 -v multifilesrc location=image_%04d.jpg do-timestamp=true caps="image/jpeg,framerate=\(fraction\)20/1" ! jpegdec ! queue ! omxh264enc target...

Re: Issue with Gstreamer pipeline

Looks like we got an "No corresponding frame found"-error, no idea on that one :(

- Do you have a missing number in between the images?
- Is that an rpi1 or 2?
- What is the cpu load on this? Can you try without the rescale?

Re: Issue with Gstreamer pipeline

Try to decode the pictures with the cpu and only the encoding with omx by replacing "decodebin" with "jpegdec", an additional "videoscale" might be needed if you want to resize the pictures (will cost more cpu time), e.g.: gst-launch-1.0 -v multifilesrc location=image_%04d.jpg ! jpegdec ! videoscale...

-gstreamer, started to try this aproach no present results availabe http://www.raspberry-projects.com/pi/pi-hardware/raspberry-pi-camera/streaming-video-using-gstreamer gstreamer is now in raspbian, so no special apt repository needed. Should work fine for you, just pass the sdp file to gst-launch.

Re: Best approach for movie with text overlay

I have this pipeline right now: gst-launch-1.0 -v v4l2src do-timestamp=true ! video/x-raw,format=I420,width=640,height=480,framerate=30/1 ! timeoverlay ! omxh264enc ! video/x-h264,width=640,height=480,framerate=30/1 ! decodebin ! autovideosink sync=false Which just sits there and does nothing. Re: Best approach for movie with text overlay

Pipe raspivid to GStreamer (version 1.2) and use timeoverlay: Result: Could not get video output. Possibly due to h264 encoding versus raw, but I tried a few things and couldn't get it to work. You do realize, that you need raw video for the overlay element? What pipeline did you use? I GStreamer w...
